António Guterres,

I am writing this letter to talk and to warn you about an important issue: catastrophic
pandemics.

Before 2020, very few of us didn’t think about the possible appearance of a pandemic.
Unfortunately, after 2020, we have all experienced it. COVID-19 has killed more than 5 million
of people and caused an economic a huge downturn in the economy. It is possible that a
future pandemic may be even worse. To prevent this from happening, you should invest in
biosecurity which is a set designed to protect populations against harmful biological or
biochemical substances. Unlucky, this cause is neglected. However, there are potentially
workable solutions that we could pursue to make us safer. Your support can make a big
difference.

Greater human population density and larger domestic animal reservoirs are some modern
living conditions that increase the risk of the appearance of a new pandemic. Taking all this
into consideration, maybe is time to take some action and invert this context. Only in this way
we would be able to postpone the beginning of a new pandemic and reduce its severity.

The next generations will be very grateful if the problem of the pandemics were largely solved
and controlled.

I am very thankful for your attention. As you showed a great capacity to control the previous
pandemic, I believe that you will make and effort to prevent the possible future ones.
