INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS – TAUGHT, FULL-TIME, POSTGRADUATE PROGRAMMES

TUITION FEES AND METHODS OF PAYMENT 2023/24

The annual tuition fees for the Postgraduate programme commencing in 2023/24 are £14,250.

In order for us to issue CAS you will need to meet all the conditions stated on your offer letter, supply all supporting documents
required for a CAS to be issued, as well as pay £5,000 tuition fee deposit to the Finance Office.

Please find below information about the options on how and when to pay for your course at the University of Chester.

Option 1: Full Fee Payment.

Please note: The deposit amount plus Payment 1 must have been made before you are able to complete your enrolment.
Your enrolment must be complete before the latest start date stated on your CAS.

Please note: The University of Chester awards additional merit based scholarships, which can be deducted from the total tuition
fees due for the course. If you have been awarded an additional merit based scholarship this will be outlined in your offer letter.

Option 3: Sponsor

If you are being sponsored, from your national government, an international scholarship organisation, an international university or
company, you MUST send a letter of authorisation or a purchase order from your sponsor to the International Centre and Finance
Department. We will then invoice your sponsor directly.

A letter or purchase order is required for each academic year of study. The sponsor will be invoiced for the full amount of their
sponsorship for the academic year, this is payable in full on receipt of invoice. If you have previously supplied a letter covering the
whole of your programme we would be grateful if you would provide an additional copy of this letter or mark your form to that effect.
If we do not receive confirmation of sponsorship, you will be personally liable for the fees.

Pre-sessional English Courses

If you are wishing to enrol on one of the University of Chester’s Pre-sessional English courses, you will be required to pay the full
pre-sessional tuition fee costs in addition to your £5,000 deposit. The Pre-sessional English tuition fees costs will be outlined on
your offer letter.
Entry Clearance to the UK
Please note that a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) will not be issued until you have met all conditions of your offer,
paid the required tuition fee deposit and supplied all supporting documents required for a CAS (please note you may also be
required to complete a Genuine Intention Interview). A CAS will be issued to you no more than three months before the start of your
course and will state the tuition fee amount you have paid to the University.

Please note that if you fail to pay your fees by the due date for payment, your access to University of Chester’s
facilities and services will be withdrawn and you will not be allowed to sit your examinations or submit your written
assignments. If you are on a Student visa then you may also be reported to the UKVI for non-enrolment.

Please note: You are responsible for paying all bank charges on transfers and payments.

How to Pay

The University accepts a number of payment options, including bank transfer or via our payment portal. To find the most up to date

Refunds
Deposits can be refunded in exceptional circumstances and each case will be treated on an individual basis. You will be asked to
request your refund in writing to fees@chester.ac.uk and you will need to provide evidence: e.g. visa refusal letter, or other
necessary document, to prove your case, and we will refund your deposit.

Please note: £250 of your tuition fee deposit will be non-refundable. This is to cover any necessary administration costs
related to your application. Refunds can only be issued to your original payment method.
