Sony: the pioneer brand

Sony is a Japanese company based in Tokyo, Japan. It was founded

in 1946 by Akio Miorita and Masaru Ibuka.
Over the years, "Sony" made itself known by producing innovations
such as the radio, the Walkman, the first color recorder in the world,
etc.
Sony has achieved similar success in other areas with its TVs,
videos, DVDs, hi-fis and game consoles (the Sony Playstation).
Besides so many successes. Sony also had a falling out with the
company behind the ill-fated Betamax video format based on the
hardware but they were smart enough to realize that the hardware is
only one side of the consumer equation.
In 1988, Sony managed to acquire the Columbia Pictures
Entertainment company, Sony Music Entertainment became the
largest music platform in the world and Sony Pictures Entertainment
produced the biggest blockbusters of that period.
During that time Sony had become the world's healthiest brands.
Part of this health is down to Akio Morita, the other part is due to
successful marketing , Sony having a strategy and a philosophy in
which marketing is viewed very differently from other brands that
guarantee success.
