Minutes of Council Meeting dated April 27, 2023

1. The meeting was called to order at 6:05 PM by Grand Knight, Keith Kasubaski.

2. Grand Knight, Keith Kasubaski, led the Council in the opening prayer.

3. Everyone joined in the Pledge of Allegiance.

4. The March 2023 Minutes were approved.

5. There were 15 members in attendance.

9. Grand Knight, Keith Kasubaski, circulated a signup sheet for the Tootsie Roll
Campaign scheduled for Friday, May 5, and Saturday, May 6. There are lots of
open timeslots still available. Please contact Keith Kasubaski or John Mutehart to
reserve a timeslot.

10. The following slate of officers for the next fraternal year were submitted:

The election will take place at the May meeting at which time additional
nominations can be made.

11. Grand Knight, Keith Kasubaski, reported the betting hole for the Moose Inn golf
outing will be covered by Don and Nanci Maes and Pat and Mary Klier. This will
occur on Monday, May 15.

12. A Motion was made and approved to provide a $500 scholarship to Paula Caswell.

13. A Motion was made and approved to pay $400 the summer camp registration at
Camp Tekakwitha for Keith Kasubaki’s two grandchildren (the amount is $200 per
child).

14. Charlie Plach discussed the need to help with the cost of Honor Guard uniforms
for those in the Fourth Degree.

15. A Motion was made and approved to donate $400 to provide special events for the
residents at the veterans King home.

16. Don Maes discussed the possibility of using a different source of eggs for the
pancake breakfasts. The eggs are sometimes referred to as “bagged eggs” used
frequently by campers. They are a lot less work for those preparing the eggs and
cleanup afterwards. The eggs were provided as part of the food after this meeting
as a means of sampling the eggs. The appearance was much better than what
has been used in the past. It was noted that there was no difference in taste or
texture. Those in attendance who sampled the eggs approved the change to use
these eggs at the pancake breakfasts.

17. Grand Knight, Keith Kasubaski, announced the retirement of Sister Mary Ellen and
the Knights will be helping those with the party being planned by the parish.

18. Chaplain’s report:


a. Father Bill Evans provided an update on the new church pews. The
schedule still holds for installation on July 10.

b. Father Bill Evans indicated that the screen in the parish hall needs to be
replaced and asked the Knights to help with the cost.

c. Father Bill Evans provided a big “thank you” to all the Knights who help
serve Mass.

19. District Deputy’s report:


a. District Deputy, Pat Klier, added encouragement for Third Degree Members
to attend the Fourth Degree Exemplification. The Fourth Degree
Exemplifications in Beaver Dam and Stevens Point were reviewed. There is
still time to sign up candidates.

b. The tootsie rolls were delivered at this meeting for the upcoming Tootsie Roll
Campaign.

c. District Deputy, Pat Klier, reminded all Council members to complete


Form 10784 when finalizing any activities or donations.

20. Field Agent’s report:


The Field Agent’s report for the month of May is attached to these Minutes.

21. Grand Knight, Keith Kasubaski, announced the names on the Good of the Order.
Keith then led everyone in an Our Father, Hail Mary, and Glory Be to the Father
was said for all on the following list:

22. Thanks to Don Maes for providing the delicious brats, eggs and cookies for
tonight’s meeting.

23. THE NEXT COUNCIL BUSINESS MEETING WILL BE THURSDAY,


MAY 25, 2023 at 6:00 PM.

24. Grand Knight, Keith Kasubaski, led the Council in a closing prayer and adjourned
the meeting at 6:53 PM.
