Appendix: Ethical issues form

Ethical issues

All research involving human participants raises potential ethical questions,

since using people for your own benefit demands an ethical defence. In
practice, most undergraduate research should raise few ethical concerns as
long as it complies with the following broad principle:

Research participants must be fully consenting adult participants, i.e. their

participation must be from an informed perspective. They must have the
capacity to undertake what is required of them and on an entirely voluntary
basis.

Failure to adhere to the above principles could result in your Project

being rejected on ethical grounds.

You must complete this form and have it signed off by your Project
lecturer before you can start collecting any data. It should also be
submitted as part of your Project.
