The College of Education at Qatar University was established in 1973; it is the first higher
education institution in Qatar, and the only institution responsible for teachers and
educators preparation to this day. The College of Education continues to adhere to its
educational principles and its insightful vision that aim at graduating individuals who
contribute to the country's development, progress and prosperity.Through the academic,
research, training and consultant distinctive programs it offers, the College of Education
seeks to prepare educational leaders with the knowledge, skills and positive attitudes that

International Foundation for the Accreditation of Teacher Programs (IRTE), which approved
the college’s programs over the years 2010 - 2012. After that, the college obtained the
academic accreditation from the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Programs
(NCATE) in 2016 to 2023.

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Faculty members are expected to provide up-to-date reportsinvolvingteaching activities


and student advising as assigned by the department

2. Faculty members will be responsible for course developmentandparticipate in curriculum


and program development

3. Meet all instructional and advising responsibilities as specifiedinthe policies and


procedures (refer to Part-4 within this handbook)

4. Participate in scholarly and research activities which enhancetheirprofessional


development and contribute to their discipline

5. Serve as appropriate in the department, college and university committees

6. Provide professional services to the University and community.

7. Bilingual in (Arabic & English).

Qualifications

A PhD in Art education from prestigious university .

Required to be at least recognized authority in the subject area with achievements in


research and scholarship, and an in-depth understanding of own specialism(s) to enable the
development of new knowledge and understanding within the field.

Evidence of relevant research potential, including potential to publish in appropriate


leading journals.

Evidence of ability in teaching example able to use a range of delivery techniques to


engage the interest and enthusiasm of students and inspire them to learn.

Ability to initiate development in the curriculum and to take responsibility for the effective
and efficient delivery of teaching programs, developing the curriculum and appropriate
assessment techniques.

Understanding of equal opportunity issues as they may impact on areas of teaching.

Engaged in continuous professional development.

Good interpersonal skills and ability to relate well to colleagues and different kinds of
students.

Ability to perform to required deadlines and to initiate, plan, organize and deliver
programs of work.
