Qualification COMPUTER SYSTEMS SERVICING NC II

Unit of Competency SET-UP COMPUTER NETWORKS

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY:

General Instruction:
Given the necessary tools, equipment, supplies and
materials, instruments, you are required to create a Straight-
through and Cross Over cable in accordance with acceptable
Networking Standards. (Allotted time: 2 hours)

Specific Instruction:

1. You are required to perform the following:

a. Create a Straight-through cable (30 minutes)
b. Create a Cross over cable (30 minutes)
2. Given the necessary tools, equipment, supplies and materials, and
safety paraphernalia, the candidate is required to prepare the
following:

1 meter UTP Cable
SAFETY PARAPHERNALIA
1 pc Anti-static Devices
1 pair Gloves
3. The trainer will allow 20 minutes for the learners to familiarize
yourself with the resources to be used in this demonstration.
4. The Assessment shall be based on the units of competency in the
course and shall focus on the following evidence gathering
methods below:
 Functionality
 Proper Crimping
 Color Coding Arrangement
5. Trainer may perform oral questioning of the candidate before or
after the performance of the tasks.
6. The trainer shall provide feedback of your performance at the end
of the assessment. The feedback shall indicate whether you are
Competent or Not yet Competent.
