NARRATIVE REPORT
(Observance of the (6) hours reporting in the school
to implement the intended curriculum for the 4th quarter)
SY 2022-2023

To ensure that the students still receive the required six hours of contact time with
their teachers, the school administration implemented a one-hour extension activity at
home. The extension activities were designed to be engaging and educational, and students
were expected to complete them from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. These activities included
enrichment activities for the fast learners, remedial activities for the slow learners, reading
assignments, and other projects.
The school administration also ensured that the extension activities were aligned with
the curriculum, and that students were provided with the necessary materials and
resources to complete them.
The implementation of half-day classes and extension activities had a positive impact
on the students' academic performance and well-being. The reduced class hours helped to
alleviate the heat stress experienced by the students, which improved their concentration
and productivity during the shorter class periods. The extension activities also provided
students with additional opportunities for learning and helped to reinforce the lessons
taught in class. The measures taken helped to provide the students with the required
contact time with their teachers and also provided additional opportunities for learning.
Aside from the implementation of half-day classes and extension activities, the
school administration also made sure that the teachers reported at least six hours in
the school daily. Teachers were given two hours to prepare instructional materials,
daily lesson logs, and other home-based activities for the learners after classes.
During this time, teachers were also given the opportunity to collaborate with their
colleagues and discuss teaching strategies, student progress, and other matters relevant to
their work. This allowed for a more cohesive and efficient approach to teaching and learning,
and ensured that the students received high-quality education despite the reduced class
hours.
The teachers also took advantage of this time to assess the students' progress and
provide feedback on their performance. This helped to identify areas where the students
needed more support, and allowed teachers to tailor their instruction to meet the individual
needs of their students.
