Summary Communication
(Chapter 8)

Communication can be defined as the

process of transmitting to the receiver to
obtain a response. There are three types of
communication that we learn in this chapter
which are verbal communication, non-
verbal communication and technological
communication. There are also four forms
of formal communication. After that, this
chapter also teach us the categories of
informal communications such as single
strand, gossip, probability and cluster.
Summary Quality (Chapter 9)

Definition of quality is the total features and

characteristics of a period or service that has the
ability to satisfy customer needs. There are two
types of quality. Consumer perspective means the
product or service meets the expectation of the
customer. Next is producer perspective. Producer
perspective means the product or service
conforms to design specifications. Other than that,
we also learnt about Total Quality Management
(TQM).There are four principles of TQM. To achieve
quality, individuals and management must refer to
approaches and perspective from prominent gurus
or philosophers in quality management.
Summary Islamic
Management (Chapter 10)

Islamic Management have existed and practiced

since the beginning of Islam and has
outperformed other management perspective
during the height of the Islamic civilization.
There are four types of characteristics in Islamic
leaders such as has allegiance to the faithful, he
has global perceived goals, not individual, he
adheres to the syariah and he delegates trust. As
Islamic leaders, they need to follow the six
principles. Islamic management practices can be
found in the four main management functions
of planning, organising, leading and controlling.
Communication

In this chapter, I discovered that there are two

types of communication in this chapter,
which are formal communication and
informal communication. Both of these were
used in a completely different situation. A
formal communication channel follows
within the chain of command and is
recognised as official. However, informal
communication refers to social relationships
in the workplace outside of the normal
organisational hierarchy. This chapter also
discussed the barriers to effectively
communicate and how to overcome those
barriers
Quality

In this chapter, I learned how important is

total quality management (TQM) in business.
The two TQM tools we learned in this chapter
are fishbone diagram and benchmarking.
Fishbone diagram representing the
relationship between a specific "effect" and
each alternate "cause" . The result of the
problem is shown on the right side of the
diagram. While the left side show the major
influence or cause. The three types of
benchmarking we learn in this chapter are
competitive, process, and strategic.
Islamic
Management

In this chapter, I notice how the Islamic

leaders crucially follow the principles. This is
because Islam is the religion of bureaucracy.
Their ideas and preference never violate the
Islamic law. Then later , there is a developing
discipline known as "Islamic Management"
which takes an Islamic approach to
management. This leadership style follows
closely to the Islamic teaching of Prophet
Muhammad (PBUH).
