The Types Of Marketing

Business-to-business (B2B) Marketing

Business-to-business Marketing (B2B) marketing refers to any marketing strategy or

content that is geared towards a business or organization. Companies that sell products
or services to other businesses or organizations (vs. consumers) typically use B2B
marketing strategies.

Example: A heavy equipment dealership is attempting to market and sell industrial

equipment to a construction company.

Business-to-consumer (B2C) Marketing

The term business-to-consumer (B2C) refers to the process of selling products and
services directly between a business and consumers who are the end-users of its
products or services. Most companies that sell directly to consumers can be referred to
as B2C companies.

Example: An example of a product-based B2C company would be a shoe brand selling

its shoes to its customers via its physical storefront.

Brand marketing

It is the process of establishing and growing a relationship between a brand and

consumers. Rather than highlighting an individual product or service, brand marketing
promotes the entirety of the brand, using the products and services as proof points that
support the brand's promise.

Example: Companies like Apple, Coca-Cola, and Starbucks carry the power of their
brand names to increase sales and draw customers.

Cloud Marketing

Cloud marketing is all of a business' digital marketing efforts, personalized and

integrated to improve a buyer's experience. The goal is to reach buyers where they are,
whether it's on social media, checking their email, or visiting a website.
Example: Social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, and
Tiktok.
Telemarketing

Telemarketing is a method of direct marketing in which a salesperson solicits

prospective customers to buy products or services, either over the phone or through a
subsequent face to face or web conferencing appointment scheduled during the call.

Example: Outbound calls, inbound calls, lead generation, and sales calls

Guerilla Marketing

Guerilla marketing is a way to drive publicity and, as a result, brand awareness by

promoting using unconventional methods designed to evoke surprise, wonder, or shock.

Example: Publicity stunts, flash mobs, graffiti.

Push Marketing

A push marketing strategy, also called a push promotional strategy, refers to a

strategy in which a firm attempts to take its products to consumers – to “push” them onto
consumers. In a push marketing strategy, the goal is to use various active marketing
techniques to push their products to be seen by consumers, sometimes right at the point
of purchase.

Example: Direct Selling to customers in showrooms,Point of Sale display (POS),Direct

Mailer, Packaging designs to encourage Trial or Purchase, Trade show Promotion.

Influencer Marketing

It involves a brand collaborating with an online influencer to market one of its

products or services.

Example: Vlogs and online posts from a famous influencer.
