Afterwards, to support the educational goals of the Aligarh Movement, Sir Syed Ahmad Khan

founded the All India Muhammadan Education Conference. He even wrote “The Loyal Mohammdans
of India” to show loyalty to the British. Sir Syed Ahmed thus played a key role in reforming Muslim
society to promote Muslims' economic, political, social, and other interests. (B) Both the Aligarh and
Deoband movements were educational movements to uplift the Muslims in India. Aligarh movement
was initiated by Sir Syed Ahmad Khan and Jamal al din al afghani was sent to India under the order of
the Sultan Abdul Hamid II to make success the Deoband movement and to spread the impact of
ottoman empire in this region. Aligarh movement was mainly to promote western education among
the muslims to compete them with hindus of India. On the other hand, Deoband movement was for
poor who couldn’t effort the English education. To make the muslims people loyal to the British
Aligarh movement was initiated, but Deoband movement was to spread the impact of ottoman
empire in India. The above are the comparision between Aligarh movement and Deoband
