Transformation of Positive-
Comparative Superlative
(Basics of Positive-Comparative –Superlative)
Adjective এর Degree ৩ ধরেনর হেয় থােক। যথা-
i) Positive -- big, great, honest
ii) Comparative -- bigger, greater, more honest
iii) Superlative -- biggest, greatest, most
Honest
Degree এর Transformation েশখার জনয্ িন�বিণর্ত িবষয়গুেলার উপর
Focus রাখেত হেব:
1) Degree অনুযায়ী শে�র গঠন।
2) Degree অনুযায়ী বােকয্ বয্বহার এবং Indicator and Key-words.
3) কােক কার সােথ িকভােব তুলনা করা হে� তা িনণর্য় ।
Degree অনুযায়ী শে�র গঠন
(a) এক Syllable িবিশ� শে�র েশেষ r/er েযাগ কের Comparative এবং
েশেষ st/est েযাগ কের Superlative
হয়। েযমন-
* dark - darker - darkest
* green greener - greenest -
বয্িত�ম:
* good - better – best, * bad - worse – worst
(b) 1/2 Syllable িবিশ� শে�র েশষ অক্ষর y হেল y েক বাদ িদেয় ier েযাগ
কের Comparative এবং iest েযাগ কের
Superlative করেত হেব।
েযমন- dry - drier – driest, happy - happier – happiest
(c) এছাড়া অনয্ সকল 2 Syllable িবিশ� শ� এবং 2 এর অিধক Syllable
িবিশ� শে�র পূ েবর্ more/less েযাগ কের
Comparative most/least Superlative হয়। েযমন-
beautiful - more beautiful - most beautiful
▪ beautiful - less beautiful - least beautiful
honest - more honest - most honest
honest - less honest - least honest
বােকয্ বয্বহার এবং Indicator and Key-words:
Positive Positive- এর বয্বহার 3 ধরেনর হেয় থােক।
(1) He is good. He is a good boy.
(2) He is as good as his father.
( 3 ) He is not so good as his father.
তেব Transformation এর েক্ষে� শুধু (2) as ......... as অথবা (3) SO
.......... as বয্বহৃত হয়।
এর পাশাপািশ বােকয্র চািহদা অনুযায়ী No other/ Very few বােকয্র
শুরুেত েযাগ হেত পাের।
* Comparative : Comparative এর পের than বয্বহৃত হয়।
েযমন- He is better than Kamal.
বােকয্র চািহদানুযায়ী than/ than any other / than all other/
than many other/ than most other হেত পাের।
* Superlative : Superlative এর আেগ The বয্বহৃত হয়।
েযমন- He is the best boy in the class.
বােকয্র চািহদা অনুযায়ী the one of the হেত পাের ।
