Pick an example of a descriptive text and analyze the linguistic features it has!
Answer:
New York City is a bustling metropolis located in the northeastern United States. The
city is known for its iconic skyline, which includes landmarks such as the Empire State
Building and the One World Trade Center. It is also home to world-class museums, theaters,
and restaurants, as well as famous parks like Central Park and the High Line. The city has a
diverse population and a rich cultural history, with neighborhoods like Chinatown, Little
Italy, and Harlem each offering their own unique flavor. Overall, New York City is a vibrant
and exciting destination that offers something for everyone.

Analysis:
The above descriptive text is about New York City and uses language to convey the unique
features and characteristics of the city. Here are some linguistic features that are notable in
this text:

1. Adjectives: The text makes use of a variety of descriptive adjectives to give the reader
a sense of the city's atmosphere, such as "bustling," "iconic," "world-class," "famous,"
