COURSE TITLE: Abnormal Psychology
COURSE DESCRIPTION: An introduction to the nature, causes, and possible interventions of psychological disorders. It includes nomenclature and classifications of mental disorders,
Derived from CMO No. 75 s. 2017 indigeneous concepts of abnormality and abnormal behavior. Ethical considerations in abnormal psychology/clinical psychology are also discuss in this
course.
COURSE INTENDED LEARNING OUTCOMES (CILO) By the end of this course, the learners will have the ability to:
1. Enhance personal and social Interactions by using the knowledge of the history, major theories and research perspectives of
abnormal psychology.
2. Explain the process of assessing and diagnosing such behavior and the most commonly used system of classifying psychological
disorders.
3. Identify and classify abnormal behavior, signs and symptoms and the effective treatment approaches to the different psychological
disorders.
4. Acquire enough knowledge on the basic legal rights of people with mental disorders.
