TOPIC: COMMUNITY ACQUIRED PNEUMONIA

In this case scenario, the task at hand is to accurately complete all of the necessary
data and simulate the situation as if you were physically encountering the patient. It is
important to ensure that all of the necessary parts are filled in and that your readings are
aligned with the given situation. As such, attention to detail and a thorough understanding
of the patient's condition is crucial in order to provide the best possible care.

CASE SCENARIO

A 7-year-old female child was brought to the ER because of difficulty breathing. 3 days
prior to consultation, the patient was noted to have a cough with associated high grade
fever. She was given Paracetamol affording temporary relief. No consultation was done.
1 day prior to consultation, still with fever and worsening cough. Patient was brought to a
nearby health center, was given amoxicillin and ambroxol. Few hours prior, she was noted
to have difficulty breathing. At the ER, patient is febrile at 39C RR 45cpm, (+) alar flaring
(+) retractions (+)rales

Medications to be given: Ceftriaxone, N-acetylcysteine, Sodium Ascorbate, Piperacillin-


Tazobactam
