possess?
ANALYZE
1. From the PPSTs, the Southeast Asia Teachers Competency Standards and the TEDx
videos that you viewed, what competencies does a great teacher possess?
The four core competencies of SEA-CFT are: (1) knowing and grasping what to teach, (2) aiding
students in learning, (3) involving the community, and (4) always improving as a teacher.
2. Are these competencies limited only to professional competencies?
No, I believe that if you work hard enough, you will be able to accomplish greatness because of
your ambition, passion, devotion, and faith. I believe that even instructors who do not have a
license can be excellent teachers and use this skill.
3. For a teacher to be great, is it enough to possess the professional competencies to plan a
lesson, execute a lesson plan, manage a class, assess learning, compute and report grades?
Explain your answer.
The greatness of a teacher is not measured by how well he or she can prepare and execute a
lesson plan, manage a class, assess learning, or compute and report grades. These are simply
indications that a teacher is executing his or her job according to his or her job description. The
results obtained by a teacher with his or her students establish his or her excellence. We can say
that a teacher is exceptional if his or her students learn a lot from them. If students can apply
what they've learned in class to real-world challenges, they have a good teacher. If a teacher
inspires students to pursue their dreams and set higher goals, then the teacher is remarkable. A
great teacher is someone who can make a difference in the lives of his or her students.
4. For a teacher to be great, which is more important - personal qualities or professional
competencies?
The professional and personal aspects of a teacher are both important. In my opinion, a teacher
would be incomplete without any of them. Personal characteristics such as good communication
and interpersonal skills are required so that the instructor can comprehend the students' needs and
that they may easily contact the teacher. Professional skills are required to learn the principles of
teaching methods, strategies, and hands-on training in order to deal with students from a variety
of experiences. In addition, to provide teaching certification.
5. Who are the teachers that we remember most?
Students frequently recall teachers who were nice, amusing, clever, or passionate. They
remember lecturers who actually cared about them. They recall teachers who were encouraging
or helpful, or who recognized something about them that no one else did. They recall teachers
who pushed and challenged them to think. To be honest, students recall teachers who were a
touch odd.
REFLECT
1. Which personal traits do I possess? Not possess? Where do I need improvement in?
As a student, I realize every day that my professors teach many things that I still want to learn
from them and that I can apply to my teaching right now. One thing I learned was to base my
learning on the teachings I would teach my students. I wanted to meet with them every day and
come out in my classroom with the new lesson and knowledge they could acquire from me;
despite the fact that I am a teacher, I am also a learner, and I still want to learn how to stand in
front of a student who is not shaky and can speak English properly.
2. Which professional competencies am I strongly capable of demonstrating?
I am really capable of exhibiting my abilities in cookery topics.
3. In which competencies do I need to develop more?
I need to improve my public speaking skills, especially when I am teaching them in front of
students.
To be honest, students recall teachers who were a
touch odd.
4. ACT
a) The main objective of my action research is to have a better understanding of what is going
on in a school/classroom and what can be done to help students and teachers in learning
more effectively
b) My specific research questions are: to enhance people's cognitive abilities, emotions
of efficacy, willingness to share and communicate, and attitudes toward change
c) To answer my specific research questions, I aim to create a simple, repeatable method of
iterative learning, assessment, and improvement for schools and teachers that leads to ever-
better outcomes.
WORK ON MY ARTIFACTS
Attach your Reflections here:
Being a teacher is one of the most prestigious careers one can pursue. A teacher can have a
substantial positive or negative impact on the lives of a student. Teaching is one of the few
professions that has a direct impact on our country's future, and while it may sound cheesy, you
may have a greater impact on the lives of children than some of their parents. You devote many
hours to your students, yet busy or career-driven parents may be unable to do so. Becoming an
educator enhances your home or family life, allows you to identify potential in students, and,
most crucially, allows you to basically mold lives in a span of a year.

NOTICE
Based on your activity on making a List of Completed Action Research Titles, let’s find out what
you have noticed by answering the following questions.
Questions My Answers
ANALYZE
Action research seems easy and familiar. Since teaching seems to be full of problematic
situations and that the teacher has a responsibility of finding solution for everyday problem
in school, hence teachers should do action research. This is an exciting part of being a
teacher, a problem solver!
Let us continue to examine and analyze what you have noticed and interpreted in the
previous activity.
REFLECT
Based on the readings you made and the previous activities that you have done,
1. What significant ideas or concepts have you learned about action research?
I learned that action research is critical in improving the delivery or quality of learners'
education. Action research allows us to immediately use our new information in the classroom
and to think critically. Using action research, we can discover difficulties. It also helps us come
up with a remedy to the recognized problem. In instances where ongoing improvement is
desired, action research can be beneficial.
2. Have you realized that there is a need to be an action researcher as a future teacher?
YES __√__ NO _____. If yes, complete the sentence below.
Because I'm taking this course, I've recognized that conducting action research will be useful to
me in the future. I believe that action research will help me obtain a better knowledge of the
issues that we may face in the future. Another advantage is that it will help me create a concrete
solution to the identified problem. Action research literally made us recognize that such issues
are inescapable in any teaching and learning process. Overall, I believe that action research
opens up new possibilities for fresh ideas.
OBSERVE
From what teaching principles of theories can this problem be anchored?
I have observed and noticed that Action Research begins with a problem or a problematic
situation.
Write an example of problematic situation that you have observed and noticed.
Since we are in this so-called "new normal," I have found that students are distracted, and
because we are learning online, I have noticed that students participate at a low level during the
virtual conversation. I can say that I am one of those students. When students study from home
or wherever they are, they may encounter more distractions than usual, especially if family
members and possibly younger siblings are present. Even if you have a class, your parents may
require you to wash the dishes, which will stop you from completely engaging in an online
session. To summarize, students participate little in the virtual class discussion, and some skills
that need to be learned are unable to be learned due to the current situation.
REFLECT
What have I realized? What do I hope to achieve?
I realized that for every teaching-learning problem, there is a solution.
Write a probable solution to the problematic situation above.
I suggest such as a virtual reality laboratory because we do online learning. Students can still
participate in the learning process in this manner. Another advantage is that even if they lack
hands-on experience, students may obtain the essential practical skills. It is, nevertheless,
preferable if students can finish the assignment hands-on. Given that we're in the middle of a
pandemic, let's just go with the flow and make the impossible achievable.
PLAN
What strategies, activities, and innovations can I employ to improve the situation or solve
the problem?
As a future action researcher, I can devise a relevant intervention, such as looking for a free
virtual reality laboratory on the internet. I believe that by looking, I will be able to assist learners
in participating and gaining the necessary skills. In addition, if I come find a free virtual reality
laboratory, I will make sure the entire class has access to it for some hands-on activities. In
addition, I will coach them through the use of the virtual reality laboratory to guarantee that they
obtain the skills required by the themes. That is the method I believe will assist them tackle their
low participation problem.
ACT
If I conduct or implement my plan, what can be its title?
Abstract
Laboratory activities play an important role in boosting scientific learning disciplines by
allowing students to gain practical skills through experiments and by providing them with the
opportunity to gain a more in-depth grasp of the topic. Despite the fact that laboratory
activities are costly and time-consuming, virtual laboratory activities can save money, time,
and effort. The Virtual Science Lab (VSL) is a web-based platform developed to improve
learning methodologies by providing a safe and interactive lab environment for students in
Saudi Arabian middle schools. During user trials, VSL was discovered to be an engaging,
useful, and enjoyable learning environment. It allowed people to conduct tests on their own
and repeat them as many times as they needed.
FS 2 LEARNING EPISODE 3:
UNDERSTANDING AR CONCEPTS, PROCESSES, AND MODELS
NOTICE
What concepts have been emphasized in the task and info graphics? Give at least four.
1. Recognize the definition of Action Research and its application in educational settings.
2. Recognize the basic characteristics of Action Research
3. Discover the different methods and how to perform Action Research.
4. Understand the various Action Research processes.
Since the 3 models are all for action research, what are the common elements of the three?
Based on what I've seen in the three Action Research models, they share elements. They share
the same features, which is what makes them unique. They also have a cycle with elements such
as observing, reflecting, planning, and acting, assessing, and adjusting. The parts I stated earlier
are a popular method used by action researchers to collect data. To recap, action research tests
ideas as they are produced, providing real-time feedback on what works and how it works.
What have you understood about the concept of Action Research and how will these be
utilized in your practice?
To improve educational practice, the action research process is applied. Its methods include
taking action, analyzing it, and reflecting on it. It is a method of obtaining evidence in order to
change procedures. Action research plans are also created, implemented, revised, and
implemented again, providing for a never-ending cycle of reflection and adjustment. In addition,
I will use these in my practice teaching to put all of these strategies into action.
REFLECT
As a future teacher, is conducting an Action Research worth doing?
As a future educator, I can unequivocally state that conducting action research is beneficial.
Why? This is because action research allows teachers to reflect on their practice in order to
improve it. It's also beneficial for me because I'm on my way there, and I need to be aware of the
atmosphere in which I'll be working. In addition, action research will help teachers create a more
energetic and dynamic atmosphere for teaching and learning. Furthermore, it will help teachers
and myself understand what works and what does not.
Teachers can use action research to reflect on what they want to change, learn about what others
are doing in the field, and experiment with practice in a safe setting. As a result of completing
classroom-based research, instructors who conduct action research will learn how to improve
their teaching and learning. Furthermore, by undertaking action research, teachers can become
community leaders. Another thing they may be able to exhibit in their classroom is how to be a
reflective teacher or practitioner. They can also teach their coworkers about their newfound
knowledge and encourage them to perform action research for their classes.
OBSERVE
Remembering my classroom observation in FS 1, I noticed that there are many
questions that I raised in my mind. These include:
During a discussion, how can
we encourage group work and
collaboration?
How can we encourage
students to actively participate
in the discussion?
How can we assist students in
engaging in a hands-on activity?
a) During a discussion, how can we encourage group work and collaboration?
b) How can we encourage students to actively participate in the discussion?
c) How can we assist students in engaging in a hands-on activity?
REFLECT
Thinking deeply about those problems, perhaps something must have been done to
solve the problem or answer the question, like:
a) By giving each member of their group a task in which they must participate and collaborate
with the other members of their group.
b) By asking the pupils for their views or comments on the subject.
c) Learners can master their experimental abilities by experimenting and applying what they
have learned in the course.
PLAN
Now that I am in FS 2, I plan to make a plan for my solution to problem (choose from a, b,
c)
Because certain skills necessitate practice. We must remember how important it is to master the
necessary abilities. We cannot just assume that giving students the theory and concepts will
result in them learning the skills. Remember that most pupils learn best when they can
accomplish the task personally. If my memory serves me correctly, John Dewey remarked that
"learners learn best via experience."

MATCHING PROBLEMATIC LEARNING SITUATION WITH
PROBABLE ACTION
PARTICIPATE AND ASSIST
What five problems have you identified from the words that you have encircled? Make a
statement. Write in the space below.
The problems I identified are:
1. Reading Difficulty
A large number of students struggle with reading.
2. Connectivity
Poor internet connectivity jeopardizes many students' academic futures.
3. Motivation
A lack of motivation results in no progress.
4. Comprehension
Poor comprehension will result from a lack of concentration while reading.
5. Bullying
Bullying is still prevalent among many students.
ANALYZE
Let us try to look into the following scenarios in the daily life of a teacher. This scenario
might also be similar to the class you have observed and noticed.
Scenario A: Miss Fely is a grade four teacher in a typical elementary school. She has forty
learners in her class. One half of them cannot classify animals into vertebrates and invertebrates.
She has been repeating the same science lesson for two weeks, yet no progress was observed.
This situation has been bothering Miss Fely.
Can you identify Miss Fely’s problem?
Yes, of course. Miss Fely's issue, as I identified it, is that her students do not understand the
distinction between vertebrates and invertebrates. Her students, as described in the preceding
situation, are unable to classify creatures using the aforementioned taxonomy of animals.
Of course, yes.
A) What I can suggest to Miss Fely is to utilize charts with animal classifications at the top,
which will act as the header. The meaning of the two classifications, as well as some
photographs of animals from the vertebrate and invertebrate groups, are included so that all
students understand the distinction. She could assist her students visualize topics by using
charts and graphics. Furthermore, such strategy may facilitate her students' ability to digest
information and make connections. To recap, Miss Fely can help her children comprehend the
distinction between vertebrates and invertebrates by using a graphic.
B) Another suggestion I have for Miss Fely is to watch a video presentation about vertebrates
and invertebrates. Miss Fely should consider the reality that pupils learn a lot from what they
observe. It will also make it easier for her to deliver her subject lecture. I feel that viewing
films will make her fourth-grade children pay greater attention to the subject, which they will
subsequently absorb, understand, and retain. Remember that simply discussing vertebrates and
invertebrates will make it tough for the children to understand, thus a video presentation would
be perfect, as learners at this grade level require a presentation to assist them with their
learning.
What solution can solve Miss Fely’s problem?
Among the two alternatives I suggested to Miss Fely, I feel that using video presentations with
topic-specific content is the most likely to solve her problem. I believe students in that grade
level will find it entertaining to watch videos, and I am convinced that this approach will
answer Miss Fely's problem because she works with fourth-grade students.
How?
By putting the solution into action, that is. She must first choose videos suited for fourth-grade
children. She must then ensure that the content does not contain any violent clips that pupils
should not view. She must also give the movies to the class and elaborate on the issue. As a
result, she must repeat and highlight essential elements from the lesson at the end of the
presentation.
Yes, I think so. Miss Fely's problem corresponds to the solutions I gave above. The remedies
presented solve Miss Fely's concern of her students' inadequate knowledge of their topic on
vertebrates and invertebrates. Furthermore, because the proposed method includes the use of
visual and audio-visual assets such as charts and instructive movies, she will be able to better
explain the issue to her students. Furthermore, her students would be able to readily assimilate
knowledge and create connections from the resources offered regarding their topic as a result
of this.
Scenario B: Sir Ryan teaches in a disadvantaged urban community. Most of his learners come
from families that are disrupted, either with single parents or with their guardians who stand only
as parents. They are deprived of the necessary food, clothing and shelter.
Can you identify the most probable teaching-learning problem/s in the class of Sir Ryan?
a) Sir Ryan's class's most likely teaching-learning difficulty would be a lack of parental aid, as
the bulk of his students come from a disrupted family, which instantly limits time and
parenting inputs to their children.
b) Another issue that may occur is poor attendance and insufficient student motivation, as kids
in the disadvantaged urban neighborhood are denied of fundamental human requirements such
as food, clothes, and housing, which negatively impacts their interest.
Can you propose a solution to solve one of the problems that you have identified?
Among the issues identified, I feel that holding students and parents accountable for frequent
and unjustified absences is one of the most effective remedies to poor attendance and low
student motivation. He must also implement a strong attendance policy to address the problem
of excessive absenteeism. Sir Ryan must give encouraging quotations, tales, or videos every
day before starting the class discussion. These items will inspire his students to respect
education and know that their current circumstances are not permanent. He must convince his
students that there are many stories of people who climbed from obscurity to become famous
and affluent, and that they, too, can do the same if they are driven to study.
REFLECT
After reading the two scenarios given above, how would identifying problematic situations
and finding solution to these problems help you become a better teacher? Explain:
You must be observant as a future teacher in order to recognize problem circumstances. How?
Allowing oneself to pay attention to the things in your environment. Finding potential solutions
to problematic situations in the classroom will help me become a better instructor eventually by
enhancing my ability to look and watch attentively. Aside from that, it enables me to grow and
appreciate challenges that frequently arise in classes.
Connectivity, involvement, home, and social status are all problematic scenarios that might
develop in the classroom and have an impact on the teaching-learning process for both teachers
and students. Furthermore, according to scenario two, Sir Ryan's students were from a low-
income urban population, with the bulk of them coming from broken families. It is possible that
they are unable to focus on every lesson presented by teacher Ryan, that there are more dropouts,
that there are more absent students, and that they are uninterested in the teachings.
REFLECT
What changes do you want to achieve? The first change I want to make is to provide
learners with a meaningful.
While teaching and learning, you can also socialize with them. Second, I want them to take part
in all activities and understand that there is hope and help accessible to them. Third, I want them
to know and believe that I am willing to go to any length to assist them in becoming better
versions of themselves, and that I will urge them to be more cooperative and have a more
positive educational experience. Finally, I want people to change their perspective and believe in
their own potential to effect positive change for their own benefit.
PLAN
What strategies will you use to improve the situation?
To address the current scenario, I intend to pay them regular visits at their residence in order to
get to know them personally and build a positive connection with their parents. As a teacher, I
will be versatile and empathetic. Parents and students should both be able to voice their
concerns. I will present myself as a role model to gain their trust since I feel that establishing a
positive attitude in the classroom begins with me. And I will reinforce and reward great actions
since complimenting children on their positive behavior is a simple yet effective method to
motivate them to accomplish their best. These tactics will help students meet all of their needs
and bring them to class. I understand how difficult it is, but if both the teacher and the parents are
working for the same objective and moving in the same direction, it will all be good in the end.
ACT
What would be the title of your Action Research should you conduct the study?
"Strategic Intervention and Effectiveness towards Social Status of Grade 1 Students" would be
the title.
As a teacher, I will conduct this study because I am convinced that it will assist and benefit both
parents and children. I will present this study to the Principal for approval and prepare the
necessary materials in order to carry it out. As part of the research, I will seek and secure an in-
kind donation that will enable me to satisfy some of the students' and parents' needs.

Improving the Performance of Elementary School Pupils with Strategic Intervention Material
(SIM)
II. Author/s
RONELA ENCINAS
III. Abstract
This paper attempted to prove that the Strategic Intervention Material (SIM) can significantly
address the least mastered skills and learning competencies from the K-12 curriculum guide.
Different and multiple activities were created in order to improve and make the pupil understand
difficult concepts about the subject matter. Assessments were made and subjected to parallel
testing. The items in the test were analyzed. The activities were finalized and administered in T.
Elementary School, with 23 Grade IV pupils as respondents. The mean, mastery and
performance level on the actual lesson and the utilization of SIM were computed. The results
were also compared. The mastery and performance level before and after the use of the Strategic
Intervention Material were interpreted. It showed that there was significant difference on the
mastery and performance levels of pupils. This suggests that the utilization of SIM helps the
pupils to master the difficult and least mastered competencies.
The study's problem is that students are having difficulty understanding how to improve their
performance level through the use of multiple activities.

FS 2 LEARNING EPISODE 5:
PREPARING THE LEARNING ENVIRONMENT: AN OVERVIEW
1. Bulletin Board Display, In order to help my mentor create a conducive learning environment,
I will provide required suggestions, connected ideas about many subjects, and extend her
inventions that are pertinent to the twenty-first century. I will also assist my mentor by
completing creative research and developing a poster, both of which are essential in order to
establish a conducive learning atmosphere. Because I recognize that a bulletin board may
function as "another teacher," reflecting new teachings and assisting students in understanding
new topics, reinforcing new vocabulary and concepts, and challenging students to interact in new
ways.
2. Small Group Discussion, I will obtain permission from my mentor to lead and initiate this
small group conversation in order to support her in leading and launching this activity. I will
prepare all relevant subjects and materials. I will also provide them with adequate time and space
to collect their views and contribute to debates. It will help students make better use of their time
and be more productive.
3. Checking class attendance in a virtual classroom (i.e. google meet or zoom), before the
class or meeting, I will ask my mentor for permission to prepare for and monitor class
attendance. She will be able to streamline her work by commencing this.
NOTICE
Learning Environment 1:
What have you noticed of the display in the class bulletin board? What message or theme
does it convey? During our observation with our cooperating teacher, I spotted the names of
the second quarter honorees on the bulletin board. It's wonderfully painted, and every edge of
the paper was cut with care. The title is written in large, legible letters. The teacher utilized
bright colors that pulled the students in and were visible from a distance. Every time they see
it, it communicates directly to the students, telling them in their thoughts and hearts that they
must become dedicated in accomplishing academic work. It will motivate students to keep
working hard in order for their name to appear on the bulletin board someday.
What makes it attractive to the learners? It attracts students by utilizing brilliant colors,
writing in huge characters, and being visible from a long distance. It appeals to me since it
encourages children to learn and have fun.
Does it help in the learning process? How? Yes, since putting their names as awardees on
the bulletin board shows that the teacher is monitoring their performance by assigning those
grades for that quarter. If the pupils are giving their all, the teacher will be able to tell. It will
also identify the individual requirements and interests of the pupils, allowing them to better the
teaching-learning process for both of them.
Learning Environment 2:
If the teacher is using a distance delivery of learning through the modules, where is most
likely the learning space of the students? In their own homes, especially during the
pandemic. The best and most secure location for students to learn is at home. Parents are
accountable for their children's education, and the module is delivered to them at school.
Can you describe? Home learning is entertaining, interesting, and significant. While growing
in their professions, children can acquire new skills and knowledge with the help of their
parents. However, the learning environment, especially at home, must be conducive. It relates
to our physical living area; our home should be well-lit, comfy, clean, and warm. It must be
quiet so that the students are not disturbed, and it must also suit the children's needs.
How can you as a teacher help to make such environment conducive for learning? As a
teacher, I can help them by convening a meeting and offering suggestions on how to create a
positive learning atmosphere. I'll also pay them a house visit to assess if they have a good
learning environment. As a teacher, I'll never get tired of urging them to put their children's
learning needs first. In addition, I will seek the aid of the local government in this regard so
that they can have any materials or gadgets at their disposal, allowing them to experience a
meaningful teaching-learning process even from the comfort of their own home.
ANALYZE
The examples above, describe two contrasting situations. The first shows that the learners
are in the same room or space while in the second, the learners may be in different learning
spaces like homes, study hubs or in extreme cases parks or under the trees.
As a teacher, in which of the two situations would you prefer to manage for learning?
Choose between Learning Environments 1 or Environment 2.
Explain your choice: Why?
I'll go with learning environment 1, which shows students in a room or classroom. Because
students may have the opportunity to raise questions at any time in the classroom. It enables
students to engage in small group conversations, participate in various school events, and spend
time with their peers. I can't think that this pandemic has left the entire face-to-face schooling
system unusable. I miss those days and hope and pray that they pass as quickly as possible.
Learning in the classroom is fun and meaningful, and students can get a better knowledge of the
teaching-learning process. They can have a variety of feelings about one another through social
contact in the classroom. In my perspective, online education cannot replace face-to-face
education, and it is the best environment for children to attain their full potential.
REFLECT
a) Face-to-face learning outperforms online learning because it allows students to get their hands
dirty while interacting with their peers.
b) It is my obligation as a teacher to give the greatest atmosphere possible for the students to feel
and experience a conducive learning environment.
c) If the epidemic continues, as a teacher, I must be prepared to present modules at their houses
and make their area a comfortable learning environment.
OBSERVE
What probable problem may result from the two situations of the learning environment?
These are the challenges that are most likely to develop in the two learning scenarios.
REFLECT
What solutions can I think of to solve the problem?
To begin, as a teacher, I must interact with students by visiting them at home and asking how
they are and how I can assist them. Second, as a teacher, I must have a plan A and a plan B in
place to fulfill the learning requirements and interests of all of my students. Third, I need to talk
to the parents about their current circumstances and status. Fourth, I must be innovative while
also cultivating a mindful attitude. Fifth, in order to completely appreciate my current vocation, I
must go above and beyond. Finally, because the students' future is in my hands, I must be
adaptable in whatever I do.
PLAN
As a teacher, as I explained previously, I should be prepared for any eventuality. How
should I do it?
To fulfill the assignment and support the children in their needs, I must apply my effort and
willingness. The teacher is critical in overcoming these challenges. And the precise activities that
I can take are as follows: first, I must seek the principal's assistance and advice before taking the
necessary action. Second, I'll talk to the parents about their current position. Third, I intend to
seek the intervention and assistance of local leaders. Fourth, as a teacher, I shall develop all
educational materials. To accommodate all of them, I shall adapt all of my teaching abilities
based on their demands and circumstances. These solutions are designed to be used in a two-
learning setting.
WORK ON MY ARTIFACTS
In not less than 300 words, write an essay on a topic: My Conducive Learning
Environment.
The second characteristic is openness. I'd want to hang children's artwork on the walls. This will
boost the kids' self-esteem. Creating a comfortable reading area for six-year-olds, for example,
will encourage them to read more. Furthermore, I believe that by establishing shared open spaces
with other classrooms, I can help the children attain their full physical, mental, and emotional
potential.
The third aspect is resource availability. As a future teacher, I must remember that making the
most of my resources would not only save me time and money, but it will also help a child's
ability to learn and develop. So I'm going to give myself permission to get the resources I need to
help my child learn better. Examples include videos, PowerPoint presentations, workbooks,
folders and files, and books and dictionaries. This allows me and my students to maintain an
orderly environment while also supporting them in getting the most out of their learning
experience.
A physical classroom is the final option. As a future teacher, I will make certain that desks and
work areas are well organized, bulletin boards are visually appealing, and materials and supplies
are appropriately preserved. My kids will remark that the surroundings are both clean and secure.

ANALYZE
What do you think brought the changes in the face-to-face learning environment now?
I feel that the inclusion of technology into the classroom, which delivers effective learning
environments, is causing changes in the face-to-face learning environment. It affects how seats
and tables are organized, and certain spots must be reserved, among other things.
From the changes that you identified, choose one that you can do. How will you do it?
I believe the most major improvements I can make are to the overall arrangement of the
classroom; I intend to make my classroom more creative by employing available technologies. I
feel that I should concentrate on things that reduce distractions in the classroom and help kids
grow.
REFLECT
Do you think making the learning environment conducive for a face-to-face classroom will
enable the learners to achieve better learning outcomes? _Yes explain your answer.
I believe that if the classroom is welcoming, distractions within the classroom are eliminated,
students continuously assimilate the material, and they learn how to reflect on and assess their
learning.
OBSERVE
What common problem have I noticed in the face-to-face learning environment?
The noisy environment, as well as student overcrowding in and out of the classroom.
Can I translate this problem into a question?
What can we do to assist students in such a situation?
REFLECT
How would I solve the problem?
By developing and implementing the rules and norms that kids require in order to achieve a
positive and relaxed classroom atmosphere.
Will it improve my teaching? _Yes_ How?
It helps me improve my teaching so that I can concentrate more on the lesson and deliver a better
learning experience. It also allows students to concentrate more on their studies while still
interacting with one another.
PLAN
What will I do to solve the problem? Describe briefly how you will do it.
I would create something one-of-a-kind so that my students can practice basic etiquette both
inside and outside of the classroom. As a result, students develop morals, attitudes, and become
more disciplined in a given circumstance.
WORK ON MY ARTIFACTS
Visit a school, where the learning environment is face-to-face prepare a detailed report
describing the face-to-face learning environment in terms of three components.
Physical environment
The physical environment refers to the overall design and arrangement of a given classroom and
its learning areas. To maximize learning opportunities and involvement for all students, teachers
should organize the classroom atmosphere, furnishings, and materials. Teachers can effectively
implement the Universal Design for learning principle, which emphasizes that the environment
and the resources contained within it should be accessible to all. Making anything accessible
may include providing books at various reading levels, putting goods on a shelf within easy
reach, or providing enough space for a wheelchair-using child to navigate the classroom.
Psychological environment
Without a doubt, the psychological environment is the hardest and most one-sided in nature.
Teachers demonstrate their attitudes, enthusiasm, ideals, and principles within the psychological
environment. When they begin their educational journey, most students expect to be encouraged
and assisted in their studies. The psychological atmosphere in the classroom facilitates the
sharing of ideas, opinions, and attitudes, as well as the asking of questions and the examination
of concerns.
Social environment
The term "social environment" refers to how the environment of a classroom influences or
supports interactions between young children, teachers, and family members. A well-designed
social environment fosters positive relationships between adults and children and allows adults to
support children in achieving their social goals. In order to build strong social relationships in the
classroom, teachers must plan activities that take the following factors into account.
Portfolio Entry Title:
The face-to-face learning environment
The overall design and arrangement of a given classroom and its learning centers is referred to
as the physical environment. Teachers should organize the classroom environment,
furnishings, and materials to optimize learning opportunities and participation for all students.
Teachers can employ the Universal Design for Learning concept to do so effectively, which
emphasizes that the environment and the resources included within it should be accessible to
all. Making something accessible may mean giving books at different reading levels, placing
items on a shelf within easy reach, or providing adequate space for a wheelchair-using
youngster to navigate around the classroom.
Without a question, the psychological environment is the most tough and one-sided in nature.
Within the psychological environment, teachers show their attitudes, excitement, values, and
principles. Most students expect to be encouraged and aided in their learning when they begin
their educational journey. In the classroom, the psychological environment encourages the
exchange of ideas, opinions, and attitudes, as well as the asking of questions and the
exploration of concerns.
The phrase social environment relates to how the atmosphere of a classroom influences or
fosters interactions among young children, instructors, and family members. A well-designed
social environment promotes pleasant relationships between adults and children and enables
adults to assist youngsters in achieving their social objectives. Teachers must plan activities
that take the following criteria into consideration in order to foster excellent social
relationships in the classroom.
FS 2 LEARNING EPISODE 7:
MAKING ONLINE OR VIRTUA LEARNING ENVIRONMENT SAFE
AND CONDUCTIVE
NOTICE
As a teacher, what have you discovered to be easy to implement in your virtual class?
I realized as an observer in an online class that online classes are challenging to handle, but we
must find a way. Despite the fact that everything is done online, the first thing I'll do is set up
rules and controls. My students' participation will be logged, and I will use synchronize and
offbeat to ensure that they have adequate time to complete their tasks. It would be wonderful for
three times its current price, according to the thinking.
How did the students show their active participation in the lesson?
Student’s shows active involvement in the lesson by being on time for an online virtual class and
participating in the class at all times by raising their hands or clicking the raise hand icon. They
also pay attention, ask insightful questions, and actively participate in all activities, but this is not
always the case.
ANALYZE
REFLECT
As a future teacher I feel that on-line learning environment can be safe if,
The teacher makes good use of creativity. We realized the importance of explaining internet
security to students so that they understand what to avoid and report when doing online
classwork. This understanding equips students with the knowledge and skills they will need to
develop secure online habits in the future. It also teaches students how to use the internet
responsibly and ethically, which will assist them in remaining safe even when they are not doing
schoolwork. This is, in my opinion, informative.
It will be interesting for me since I will be able to give my lessons using a range of software apps
and web resources. However, I believe virtual teaching is challenging because I only have a
basic understanding of how to use digital learning systems. As a result, in order to learn how to
utilize those apps, I'll have to join webinars or seminars.
OBSERVE
Identify the problems brought about by the on-line learning environments.
Social Isolation.
Limited access to technology.
Individuals who are computer illiterate are unable to access the system.
REFLECT
How would you solve this problem?
This issue could be addressed in the classroom by developing a strong innovation integration
approach. I was aware that there are factors beyond the teachers' control when applying learning
innovation. External difficulties must be dealt with at the organizational level, and the majority
of changes are ongoing. The term "access restriction" refers to issues caused by a lack of
hardware or a network. Implementing instructional innovation requires enough resources and a
fast internet connection at a teacher's school. The government must help our pupils cope during
this time of difficulty. I agree that no one, even in an emergency, should be denied an education
because students are our hope for a brighter future.
PLAN
What initial plan do you intend to do to solve the problem?
The most important thing, according to experts, is to stay in touch with teachers and keep them
up to date on what's going on. They should be understanding and accommodating, even
recording course sessions as a backup. Encourage students to do their best and avoid distractions;
avoid anything that can interfere with your learning. There are several stages in which you can
engage and communicate with you. Plan breaks and stick to your learning schedule to prevent
missing live lectures or sessions. In addition, all you may require at home is a high-speed internet
connection. Remember where you may get help from your organization, as well as any particular
issues with software and gadgets for engaged learning. Students should have access to research
tools that will help them.
Specialized problems can be resolved by phone, mail, or live chat. Keep your instructor in mind
throughout the problem-solving process.

FACE-TOFACE/REMOTES LEARNING
To ensure that I can carry out perform my task efficiently and effectively in participating
and assisting my cooperating teacher in establishing routines and procedures in the
classroom or in remote learning, I must be guided by the following questions:
Having these guide questions in mind, consult your Resource Teacher on the possible
assistance or participation that you can do to help her/him in doing the classroom routines.
Complete the matrix for the routines that you can employ before, during and after classes
in the classroom/remote learning to ensure order and discipline in your classes. List down
the problems which you have encountered while implementing these routines.
We are given the opportunity to speak with our cooperating teacher about any possible assistance
or participation that we may provide to help her with the online class procedures. She wants that
we create both the PowerPoint presentation and the lesson plan. As a result, we were able to help
her reduce her workload.
Problems encountered while putting the procedure into action
1. Some pupils abandon the class in the middle of a meeting because they do not have enough
MB in their data.
2. Despite the agreed-upon hour, students are still arriving late for class.
3. The pupil does not understand simple directions such as turning off the microphone when
someone is speaking.
4. Due to the internet signal, students are having problems reading together.
5. The students who are being asked to read the sentences are being coached by their parents.
NOTICE
After doing your classroom routines and formulating your procedures, state what you
noticed by answering the following questions:
How did you feel after employing your classroom routines and establishing your
procedures in the classroom / remote learning? I was relieved since, despite some students
being very loud, the class flow is somewhat ordered and smooth. Students are so engaged that
they refuse to turn off their mics.
How did your students respond to your classroom routines and procedures? Students in an
online class demonstrated positive behavior because they were attentive, active, and involved in
the routines and procedures.
What was the feedback of your Resource Teacher on your classroom routines and
procedures? The feedback from my Resource Teacher on the classroom routines is to improve
and maintain more of the routines. Aside from that, she was pleased that I had finished the task.
Was there a change in the classroom environment / teaching-learning process after you have
implemented your classroom routines and procedures? The implementation of classroom procedures
has resulted in a shift in the classroom atmosphere; the class flow is somewhat smoother, and I have seen
that there is now connection with the learners.

CREATING MY CLASSROOM/REMOTE LEARNING MANAGEMENT PLAN
After realizing the different elements and steps of a classroom/ remote management plan,
you are now ready to make your own plan which you can implement in your
classroom/ remote learning. You may request a copy of the Classroom/Remote Learning
Management Plan of your Resource Teacher or you may surf the internet for more
samples/ exemplars to guide you in creating your plan.
Be guided with the guide questions for each of the elements. Follow these reminders in
writing your plan.
Schedule Timeframes
In terms of time and scheduling, I will arrange my class schedule based on the agreement my
co-teachers and I made. I should always consider the opinions of my employees and students.
To retain my students' attention on the task at hand, I will make every element of my lecture
exciting and participatory. I should always attract all of my students' attention, including
those in the back. I should also consider their feelings and circumstances.
Classroom Structure, design and Arrangements
In order to establish a conducive learning atmosphere in my classroom, I will provide
materials that will aid in the growth and development of my students. I'll also add some of
the technology that we'll be using in class on a daily basis. Furthermore, in my classroom, I
shall eliminate any sources of distraction and tension.
Classroom, Safety, Rules and Procedures
To assure my students' safety and security, I will provide a medicine cabinet in case
something goes wrong. Aside from that, I should get rid of any potentially hazardous items,
such as blades, chemicals, or anything else. The classroom should have two doors and a fire
extinguisher for security reasons. To guarantee students' safety, I will establish restrictions
such as asking students to tell me or a security officer if they have any concerns, publishing a
telephone number in case of an emergency, and barring students from leaving campus during
class hours.
Strategies for Rewards and Consequences
I aim to establish class rules and procedures that will hold students accountable for their
conduct, and I believe that if consequences and rewards are attached to each rule, students
will comply.
ANALYZE
REFLECT
What were your realizations after creating and implementing your classroom/ remote
learning management plan?
I recognize the significance of having a classroom management strategy. It not only reminds
students of their academic responsibilities, but it also helps to improve the student's thinking so
that the student can have a good moral character. It also helps my kids focus on their schoolwork
because there are no interruptions.
1. What factors did you consider in writing your lesson / learning plans?
When developing my lesson/learning plan, I kept my learners' ages in mind to ensure that the
language and activities I chose were appropriate for them. I'm also thinking about including
additional tasks into performance challenges because I want my students to be able to
communicate what they've learned in class. To urge my students to learn, I want to make my
classes more exciting and entertaining.
2. What difficulties did you meet in writing your lesson / learning plans?
I'm having difficulty seeing how I'll present the lesson and what activities I'll put in my lesson
plan, what motivation I'll use, or how I'll deliver it correctly.
3. What feedback was/were given by your Resource Teacher in your first draft lesson /
learning plans?
My resource teacher reviewed my lesson plan and edited some of it due to some of my grammar
errors, but the rest is OK.
4. What were the best features/areas for improvement of your/lesson learning plans?
The best part of my class, in my opinion, is when I enable students to perform activities like
groups because I believe it has the ability to increase learning because students will collaborate
to explore and discover things on their own. One area of my teaching that I can improve is how I
deliver it in order to keep the students' attention and make it interesting and fun.

REFLECT
Why is lesson planning an integral part of the instructional cycle?
Lesson planning is an essential component of the instructional cycle because it allows teachers to
plan ahead of time what they want their students to learn, what teaching and learning activities
they will employ, and how they will test understanding. It also enables teachers to concentrate on
what they require for their lesson, what they wish to teach, and it creates a time range for what
must be achieved.
NOTICE
Using Robert Gagne’s Events of Instruction, what did you notice in the following segments
of learning:
How did the students react to the activities/various elements to arouse their interest?
Students reacted differently to varied activities and directions. Some students prefer learning
games over lectures. Some students answered questions and actively participated by offering
their opinions and insights. Of course, some pupils were shy and preferred group and couple
activities.
Were the students focused when you were stating the learning objectives at the beginning
of the lesson?
Yes, students were all paying attention since I had aroused their interest at the start of the lecture.
I had prepared a presentation, and they were able to easily understand the objectives while I was
explaining them to them.
How did the new learnings relate with what they really know?
New learnings can be applied and relate with what they already know. Students can focus on the
relevance of the new knowledge they have gained to the prior knowledge. In this way, learners
can generalize, reflect and self-explain the concepts and ideas they have learned and know. They
can also identify the gaps of their prior learning with the new learnings.
Did you notice some students who needed assistance? What did you do?
Yes, there were students who required help, which is why I used pair and group exercises.
Students who were shy and unconfident about asking questions and sharing ideas during
discussions can now do so through peer teaching and group tasks.
Did the students find difficulty in applying the theories/concepts learned to real life?
Students had the opportunity to apply what they had learnt in writing an essay using the proper
framework. As a student teacher, I was able to provide opportunities for students to cooperate
and learn from one another, allowing them to apply principles acquired in real life, such as
collaboration and multidisciplinary teamwork. I was also able to create activities that connect
deeper linkages and similar idea organization.
What pieces of evidence can prove that the students had retention of learning?
I knew that students had retained their learning since they were able to create an essay with the
proper structure utilizing the assignment I gave them. Although there were some inevitable
grammatical problems, students were able to produce a decent thesis statement for their article.
At the very least, they understand the parts and elements of writing an essay.
ANALYZE
After planning your lesson, you may be requested by your Resource Teacher to deliver the
lessons. Your Resource Teacher will use classroom observation sheet to evaluate the
delivery of your lesson. Schools use different tools in rating classroom/online observations.
Overall impression of teaching effectiveness:
As I observed, I believe the teacher has devised an excellent teaching technique that benefits
everyone's learning. I believe that if everyone contributes to everyone's learning, this form of
teaching will be successful and that there will be a reasonable way to proceed around the
classroom.
REFLECT
Having implemented several lessons in your Cooperating School under the supervision of
your Cooperating Teacher, in what areas of the lesson do you need to improve?
I need to do a better job of providing lesson learning guides. To interest my students' interest in
the subject, I need to improve my presentation. Even though I got their attention at first, I need to
hold it throughout the debate. Getting the students' attention will help them focus and reduce
their disruptive behavior. Distractions can also be reduced, and my teaching strategies and

After you participated or assisted in using resources/instructional materials in teaching-
learning, described what you observed and experienced by answering the items below
1. How did you prepare for this activity?
2. Describe how you or the teacher utilized the resources/instructional materials. Narrate
your experience as you participated and assisted.
When I make an offer, I incorporate intentional learning aids that help students understand
essential ideas and topics in general. Effective teaching materials are carefully designed, well-
structured, and targeted to the target audience of the teacher. They are developed and planned so
that the intended audience may understand and use them easily. Learning, practicing, reflecting,
collaborating with other educators, paying close attention to students and their work, and sharing
what they find are all effective teaching approaches for instructors. I always include some
feedback for students in my teaching, no matter how open-ended or personal the questions or
exercises are. A steady diet of the same type of learning activity might become monotonous and
lifeless after a while.
3. What were your feelings and thoughts while you were assisting with the use of the
resources/materials?
These are my sentiments and thoughts as I assist with the utilization of resources and tools. I felt
secure, informed, and ready to help. It will function as a guide for me and provide me with
training ideas for my students. It was then simple for me to instruct. Because the materials and
resources are easily available, this will make it easier for my students to understand what they
are being taught.
To improve student involvement, it is not required for everyone to participate in the same way or
at the same time. Instead, it is to establish an environment in which all students have the
opportunity to learn and the class thoroughly investigates issues and ideas from a variety of
perspectives. Some students will speak up more than others. Variations in learning preferences
and personality types explain this diversity. Make a classroom reservation that can handle the
appropriate amount of participation. Some students who are reflective learners who may not
speak out much in class, for example, are also questioners and thinkers. On the first day of class,
begin setting up the classroom in a way that encourages involvement. Consider more factors.
ANALYZE
What worked well during the activity using the resources/materials?
If the execution or delivery of the lesson is a problem, you should identify the effective activities
and the lessons your students learned from them. For example, if it was a game, did your
children join and enjoy themselves? What physical action, for example, did you see that your
children could easily replicate?
According to the source, the teacher would have modulated her voice effectively so that students
could understand what she was saying and also been thrilled with her voice so that students
would be completely attentive. She would have used humor to hold the students' attention
throughout the class.
What would you have done differently? What would I change? What will make it better
next time?
If the energy generated by voice, voice modulation, and humor integration is used the next time,
the debate will become more lively and thorough.
How does this connect with what you know about selecting and using instructional
materials?
Prior to entering the industry, I was unaware of the importance of learning materials in
accomplishing learning objectives. I've recently realized that while picking learning materials for
students, there are several factors to consider, all of which must be linked and aligned to support
your learning objectives. We must also consider student preferences and learning styles, as well
as create clear and accessible tools.
REFLECT
1. How ready am I in selecting and developing resources/instructional materials in the
teaching-learning process?
I am confident that the materials I have created will meet the needs of my students. I recognize
the need of relying on trustworthy sources for factual information and developing goods that are
engaging and exciting to children. I understand how important it is to plan ahead of time in order
to have effective teaching materials that will assist students' development and allow them to
retain, integrate, and apply what they have learned.
The instructional materials lay the foundation for what students can accomplish, understand, and
learn. Because they have the capacity to either encourage or irritate students, teachers must have
sufficient skill in selecting acceptable educational materials to guarantee that the information is
correct and relevant to both the subject and the learners. As a result, instructional materials must
be carefully considered, designed, formatted, improved, and applied. Teachers must consider
students' interests, learning styles, and defined as specified in the learning outcomes when
selecting these items. Mixed media learning is more engaging and adaptable to a wide range of
learning types.
3. What can I do to learn more about and practice the use of resources, and instructional
materials?
The instructional materials provide the primary content that students will encounter,
comprehend, and apply during a course. They have the ability to either inspire or demotivate
students. This is especially true for online courses, which rely on a well-planned and
comprehensive library of educational materials from which students can access, explore, absorb,
and refer as they progress through the course. As a result, for maximum advantage, such
resources must be appropriately prepared, selected, structured, developed, and used in a course.
Instructional materials should be produced and chosen with both breadth and depth of knowledge
in mind to improve student learning. The sections that follow describe the four primary areas of
selection criteria utilized by teachers: correctness and visual attractiveness, standards alignment,
and so on.
OBSERVE
l. Doing this episode on selecting and using resources/instructional materials, what
problematic situation / challenges/area of improvement did I find?
REFLECT
2. List at least three sources that you have read about this problem/challenge/area of
improvement.
I'm hopeful that all of the tools and materials I'll be using in class will be beneficial. There
should be sources and instructional aids available to fill the gaps left by other learning materials.
Obtaining resources is tough due to a scarcity of both things and funds. Giving students the
appropriate instructions is not the end of effective teaching. Making the teaching-learning

UTILIZING LEARNING MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS
1. Request your FS resource teacher or another teacher who uses an LMS for his/her class to give
you access and allow you to, "observe his/her virtual classroom through the LMS.
2. If possible, request the teacher to demonstrate how to navigate and use the LMS.
3. Ask the teacher how you can participate or assist in tasks that the teacher is organizing or
preparing in the LMS.

NOTICE
After you participated or assisted in the LMS, describe what you observed and experienced
by answering the items below.
1. Describe the structure of the LMS utilized by the teacher. How was it organized? What
main components did you find?
The teacher is utilizing an appropriate LMS. Because the apps are well-organized, the students found
them simple to use. Using these LMS, they may easily communicate with their teacher. They can
also finish projects, tasks, and assessments successfully.
2. How was the content taught or delivered? How were the learning activities arranged? What
strategies did the teacher or you use to help the students attain the objective/outcome?
Using this mode of learning delivery, learning occurs between the teacher and learners who are
geographically separated from one another during teaching. This modality is available in three forms:
TV/radio-based education, online distance learning, and modular distance learning.
As I joined and assisted, I learned that by using these LMS, I could teach the students even if I
had never met them before. These LMS help students spend less time getting to and from school
by adhering to their requirements.
ANALYZE
What do you think are the best features of the LMS that the teacher used? How did these
features help the students learn the content?
For me, the ease with which these LMS allow teachers to generate assignments and learning
materials, as well as their capacity to engage with students, are their best features. These
capabilities help students study the subject matter by allowing them to access the instructional
materials and communicate with their teacher via these LMS.
How did the teacher/or you use the LMS to implement the strategies/activities planned?
How did this connect with what you know about LMS and TPACK?
It helps me in my desire to learn more about the application of TPACK and LMS. It allows me to
put my expertise in using LMS and TPACK to help students learn.
What problem or challenges did the teacher/ you or the students encounter in working with
the LMS? How did it/they affect the teacher/learners? What part/s of the LMS do you
think can still be improved? How can this/these be improved?
The issue or challenges we encountered were due to a lack of prior expertise with the LMS. It
affects both the teacher and the student because they must first learn about the LMS in order to
use it properly. Before they can use it for the first time, they must first learn how to use it.
REFLECT
How ready are you in organizing and using an LMS? What exactly is an LMS?
Teachers and students can learn more about LMS by reading definitions and use cases, which
will also help them incorporate LMS into their courses.

Teachers must be adaptable and prepared for the unexpected because not all students have better
internet connections and some students may disconnect on occasion. However, teachers must
have developed a strong present that is untouched by this at some point. He made use of a poll
and some zoom reactions. If a student was unable to stay connected for the duration of the
meeting, the teacher gave them with a soft copy of the previous session to study.
3. What was your experience in participating and assisting in synchronous classes? What
were your thoughts and feelings while you participated and assisted?
I'm not surprised by what I saw, sincerity be damned. The only thing that piques my interest is
how the teacher handles the pressure and the unexpected situation. My interest is drawn to
flexible teaching. I'm delighted to see the type of teacher whose heart is open to sharing
information.
ANALYZE
1. What do you think are the best features of a web-conferencing app that you or the
teacher used? How did these features help the teachers and the students?
The availability of apps that don't require you to download a large amount of data that could
cause storage issues,
2. Referring to the Community of Inquiry Infographic, how well did the teacher/or you use
the web-conferencing app to establish: (Describe in detail.)
Teaching Presence?
The teacher should be aware of what students are doing and how they behave in class. They
should also obtain data from social media, where there is a lot of activity. Teachers can assist
students understand who they are as persons and what they want from education by allowing
them to use social media. You can also have a student spy on them to see what is going on in
their group chat so that you can arrange your lesson for the next meeting around what they want
to cover. Having a good time.
Social Presence?
Aside from web-conferencing, teachers used messenger to ask where pupils got difficult as
quickly as possible. Teachers should not message a student a personal message unless it's an
emergency or if a student is bullied by a classmate. They set up a group conversation in which
the teacher can leave a student activity if they have web app access. Furthermore, the teacher
sent them a topic to investigate ahead of time so that they would be prepared for the next
meeting.
Cognitive Presence?
You might also add your student to their social media profiles to discover more about him or her.
This is because some members of this generation are more likely to spend a significant amount
of time on social media. You can learn more about them and provide them with suitable counsel
if you include them. You can also motivate them by asking what their challenges are, because
teaching is more than simply delivering knowledge; it is also about motivating pupils to work
harder and in whatever manner they can.
3. What problem or challenges did the teacher/ you or the students encounter during the
synchronous classes? How did it affect the teacher/learners? What part/s of synchronous
classes do you think can still be improved? How can this/these be improved?
As a student who wants to learn, I discover a way to study the content that has been neglected
due to my location's bad internet connection. I ask my instructor if she has a copy of the lesson
that she can email to the class so I don't run out of time before learning what I need to.
REFLECT
1. How ready are you in teaching an online synchronous class?
We're still learning about this style of teaching, so I can't say how prepared I am right now
because even the students are difficult, but I can promise that I will do my best to teach
synchronous classes and that I will be flexible about what should happen.
Social Presence?
Cognitive Presence?

1. What problematic situation / challenges / area of Improvement did you see while you
participated and assisted using a web-conferencing for synchronous learning?
List at least three resources that you have read about this problem/challenge.
This paper describes the conceptual paradigm of an LMS using a hybridization of four learning
theories: classical pedagogy, behaviorism, cognitivist, and social constructivism. Before
presenting these learning theories, we will examine their advantages and disadvantages.
REFLECT
What do I hope to address the problem/challenge/area of improvement in web-

Because not all students have a strong internet connection, I may utilize a recorded video of the
topic to be represented so that they can view and comprehend it as many times as they wish.
Students having an internet connection, on the other hand, can download and watch the recorded
topic. If you're a teacher, make sure to upload the video before your meeting.

Did the formative assessment tasks help students master what they were expected to learn?
Indeed, in many cases, the examinations help students better grasp their own academic strengths
and weaknesses.
The primary goal of formative assessment is to provide students and teachers with regular
feedback on their progress toward goals, which will aid in academic attainment. As a result, it is
advantageous. Formative evaluation helps Students Bridge the knowledge gap between what
they already know and what they wish to learn. As a result, using formative evaluation
effectively increases student involvement in learning and exam performance. According to a
related study, students who self-regulate their learning achieve significantly higher grades than
those who do not.
Did the conduct of formative and self-assessment affect students’ attainment of learning
outcomes? How?
It improves students' learning outcomes because, as previously said, formative and self-
assessment have been found to help students develop academically and get notably higher marks.
It also raises self-awareness through reflective practice, makes self-evaluation criteria explicit,
and makes performance improvement techniques essential to continuous learning.
• What was the effect of students assessing their own progress on their motivation to learn?
It has an impact on students' ability to assess their own abilities and determine their strengths and
shortcomings in terms of their study habits.
REFLECT
How would attainment of learning outcomes be affected if there were no formative
assessment or self-assessment?
Students actively participate in their education, are able to appraise the quality of their own
work, and take responsibility of their own growth when it is well established in the classroom.
2. One thing that did not go very well in the development/ use/ administration of formative
assessment tasks (assessment for learning?
Formative evaluation takes far too long. This sort of thinking could be dangerous. When
formative assessments are ignored because they take up too much instructional time, potential
learning suffers. In reality, formative evaluation takes very little time.
It can increase motivation and self-control, improve performance, improve feedback literacy,
promote the development of evaluative judgment, and promote self-reflection and lifelong
learning.
The ability to ask questions is an important aspect of self-evaluation. Learn to ask specific and
relevant questions. Not every question in the world is relevant, nor can you answer them all.
REFLECT
The formative assessment activities went well because
Formative assessment includes setting learning objectives and tracking progress toward them. As
a result, motivation is increased. The procedure of formative assessment activities did not
proceed properly because
Formative evaluation is essential for differentiation. You can never be confident that all of your
students will comprehend the same material at the same level. So, let us alter our perspective.
Differentiating instruction for different learners is a modern teaching strategy. Formative
assessment should be approached with the same level of priority thinking. Every learning event
must be evaluated for effectiveness and impact. Teachers are more than up to the task since they
are aware of it. Self-assessment was effective for students because
When learning, it aids kids in remaining in their zone of proximal development. Students are
being challenged in this area, which indicates they are learning while not being overworked to
the point of irritation.
Self-evaluation can be subjective, and pupils may not be telling the truth or may even be
exaggerating their own abilities. Students must devote a significant amount of time, and they
may be unfamiliar with the evaluation criteria.
ACT
To ensure that formative and self-assessment processes serve their purpose, to help
students learn, I will learn from other’s best practices by researching on
Formative assessments, which collect data while students are learning, let teachers determine
where students are in the learning process, quickly recognize if students are struggling with a
specific subject, and alter their teaching tactics to keep students on track.
PLAN
To help improve formative and self-assessment practices, I plan to conduct an action
research on
ANALYZE
1. Are the assessment task aligned with the learning outcomes?
Learning activities designed to achieve learning outcomes are consistent with instructional
strategies and evaluation.
2. Did the teacher make use of both traditional and authentic assessment tasks?
Traditional assessments are undeniably easier to give and grade, according to teachers. They gain
a lot from it. The production of consequences happens swiftly.
3. Are the traditional and authentic assessment task formulated in accordance with
principles of test construction?
4. Was the assessment task for formative purposes also used for summative purposes? Why
or Why not?
Summative evaluation is often employed as a quantitative measure of what students know or can
remember at the end of a period, whereas formative assessment is more of a collaborative effort
between the teacher and students to advise and lead the learning. They can both be utilized in
tandem to achieve a single purpose.
5. Where were assessment results students’ better- in the results of traditional or authentic
assessment?
Authentic evaluations have several advantages over regular or traditional testing. They are more
accurate than normal assessments, especially for learning objectives that require higher-order
cognitive ability.
6. Which assessment activity/activities did the students like more? Like least? Why?
Students enjoy assessment activities such as information gathering tactics, strategic questioning,
providing feedback, and peer and self-evaluation.
REFLECT
How can I make the assessment process more meaningful to and more acceptable to
students?
Begin by thinking. Allow the main ideas and skills that were emphasized in class to receive the
majority of the attention on the exam. Consider guiding yourself with the learning objectives and
student outcomes. Create a list of specific performance expectations for the students.
Provide a challenge for the entire spectrum of pupils being evaluated, contain exact and
unambiguous evaluation criteria, and clearly tie to the learner's goals or a specific learning
purpose. They must also be fair to all children, especially those with special needs.
2. One thing/Some things that did not go very well in the development/use/administration
of assessment task are…
Students who perform poorly on an examination may be discouraged from taking more tests in
the future. They are constantly assessed, which helps them understand the student's present level
and how to grow.
