I. Title
II. Rationale
III. Objectives
General
To achieve DepEd vision and mission, the school motivate to recognize and
reward the learners, parents, teachers and other stakeholders for their
support, contribution and exemplary performance.
Specific
1. To motivate, encourage and boost the morale of the school heads,
teachers, learners, parents and other stakeholders to be actively
engaged in all the programs, projects and activities of the school by
sharing their innovative ideas, outstanding efforts for the
improvement in the operations and delivery of basic education
services of the school and of the district;
2. To establish mechanism for identifying, selecting, rewarding, and
providing incentives to deserving teachers, learners, parents and
other stakeholders; and
3. To recognize and reward accomplishments and innovations
periodically or as the need arises.
IV. Scope
This policy shall apply to school heads, teachers, learners, parents and other
stakeholders.
V. Types of Awards
A. National Awards
Pulanduta Elementary School shall participate in the search for deserving
employees who may be included in the screening of candidates for awards given by
government agencies, private entities, NGOs, and other award giving bodies such
as:
1. Presidential or Lingkod Bayan Award – conferred on an individual for
consistent dedicated performance exemplifying the best in any profession or
occupation resulting in the successful implementation of an idea or
performance, which is of significant effect to the public or principally affects the
national interest, security and patrimony.
2. Outstanding Public Official/Employee or Dangal ng Bayan Award – granted
to any public official or employee in government who has demonstrated
exemplary service and conduct on the basis of his or her observance of one or
more of the eight (8) norms of behavior described under Republic Act No. 6713
or the Code of Ethical Standards for Government Officials and Employees.
3. Civil Service Commission or the PAGASA Award - conferred on an individual
or group of individuals or team who has demonstrated outstanding teamwork
and cooperation, which resulted in the successful achievement of its goals or
A. Transfer
Employees who transfer to other DepEd Offices due to promotion shall
be given awards of recognition to symbolize gratitude for the meritorious
service they have extended to the previous Office they have worked in.
B. Resignation
Employees who have opted to resign from the Department shall be given
awards of recognition as symbols of gratitude for the meritorious service
they have extended.
C. Retirement
Employees who have reached service maturity due to age or years of
service shall be given an award of recognition in gratitude for the
meritorious and dedicated service committed to the Department of
Education.
Aside from the awards given to employees who shall separate from the
Office, they shall likewise be given a “Thank You” program, tokens of
appreciation, and the incentives provided for by the law.
A. Loyalty Incentive
The recipient shall be entitled to a cash award under existing policies.
Succeeding awards shall be given every five (5) years thereafter. In addition to
the cash award, a loyalty pin or medallion shall be given as follows: 10 and 15
years – Bronze Service Pin 20 and 25 years – Silver Service Pin 30, 35, 40 years
– Gold Service Pin & Plaque
G. Other Incentives
Which the agency’s PRAISE Committee may recommend on the basis of special
achievements, innovative approaches to assignments, exemplary service to the
public and recognition by an outside group of a particular achievement.

VIII. Funding
All expenses incurred relative to the conduct of Awards and Recognition shall be
chargeable against school and/or school local fund subject to the usual accounting and
auditing rules and regulations.
IX. Search Mechanism and Guidelines
A. Identification of Nominees
1. Every school year the School PRAISE Committee shall
announce and accept all the nominees for the school awards.
Deadline of acceptance of nominees shall be fifteen (15) days before
the date set by the same committee of awarding ceremony.
2. The details of each award such as the mechanics, criteria,
qualification of nominees, focal person, and timeline shall be
disseminated in the form of a district memorandum.
3. The School PRAISE Committee shall submit to the Office of
the Public Schools District Supervisor the initial list of qualified
nominees for each award fifteen (15) days before the date of awarding
ceremony. The same committee shall proceed to screening and
evaluation upon the recommendation of the PSDS for the final list of
nominees.
4. The School PRAISE Committee shall announce the Final List
of Nominees of each award for further screening and evaluation.
B. Identification and Announcement of Winners
1. The school PRAISE Committee may determine/suggest and
invite other individual/s assist the committee in the evaluation of the
Final List of Nominees to identify the deserving winners of certain
award/s.
2. The School PRAISE Committee shall announce the date of
final evaluation and judging of winner/s through a memorandum in
the form of but not limited to interview, ocular inspection, or
document evaluation.
3. The School PRAISE shall determine the winner/s of each
award based on the guidelines and criteria for selection.

Madam:
I am humbly requesting from your good office the approval of the School
Program on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence (PRAISE) proposal
entitled PRICES (Performance Recognition and Incentive for Committed and
Empowered Stakeholders) which forms as our guidelines for the contextualized
rewards and incentives program. This project aims to recognize the important
contribution of the teachers, stakeholders and learners in the achievement of the
Vision and Mission of the Department of Education through rewards and
recognition.
Attached herewith is the School Program on Awards and Incentives for
Service Excellence (PRAISE) Policy Guidelines.
