Objectives:

1. Our main objective is to Investigate Ohm's Law and Kirchhoff's rules using resistors in

DC circuits connected in series and parallel.

2. With the resistor color codes and Voltage we will determine the values of the resistors

R1, R2, R3, R4, Rn….

3. Learn about DC Power Supply and Multimeter.

4. Compare theoretical with experimental values.

Summary:

In this experiment we will be conducting a series of test with four different circuits.

Using the program named Multisim we will be able to build this circuits, the first one and

the second one composes of two resistors, the third one being compose of four resistors,

and finally the fourth one composes of six resistors. All the circuits will be connected to a

Dc power supply and a ground; when given electricity we will use the multimeter to check

the voltage and current traversing between each resistor. After that, we will use the given

equations by Ohm’s laws and Kirchhoff’s rules to look for the theorical value of voltage

and current from each circuit. With the given information we will be comparing the results.

Conclusion

Within this experiment we have the pleasure to learn what is and how to use a DC Power supply

and a multimeter. We learn the basics of circuits connected in series and parallel. Using Ohm's Law

and Kirchhoff's rules we used the equations to fid the voltage and current of the four different

circuits. Each circuit had different resistor voltage, we learned how to check for the voltage of each

resistor using the multimeter and its color code. Comparing the results given by the program

Multisim and the theorical values that we found; we notice we had a similar result, with the highest

percentage of difference given in the fourth circuits voltage. In V5 and V6, the found percentage

of difference was of 0.266%, in Multisim we had a value of 0.752V for V5 and V6, while in our

theorical value we had 0.750V for V5 and V6.
