Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony

Kalayaan Grounds, Malacañan Palace December 3, 2022


President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. offered the lighting of the Christmas tree
to children in his message during the traditional Christmas tree lighting
ceremony held at the Kalayaan Grounds in Malacañan Palace on December
3, 2022.
“I have always believed that Christmas is really for the children, and so we
have made, done everything that we can to make sure that every child,
every Filipino child has a Christmas,” the President said.
The Chief Executive also conferred awards to the winners of the ‘Isang
Bituin, Isang Mithiin’ nationwide parol-making competition spearheaded by
the Office of the Social Secretary led by Secretary Bianca Zobel, in
cooperation with the Department of the Interior and Local Government
(DILG).
Out of the 72 parols submitted by various provinces, South Cotabato won
first place with their Dreamweaver’s Parol featuring the intricate beadwork
of the Blaan tribe and the distinct textile weaving of the T’boli tribe,
followed by the provinces of Ilocos Norte and Abra as second and third
placers, respectively.
The Young Voices of the Philippines serenaded the event with Yuletide
carols, which was attended by the First Family, Vice President Sara Duterte,
Members of the Cabinet and other invited guests.

carols, which was attended by the First Family, Vice President Sara Duterte,
Members of the Cabinet and other invited guests.

Out of the 72 parols submitted by various provinces, South Cotabato won

The guests ate a sumptuous dinner sponsored by Jereco’s Catering after


the event.

The Chief Executive also conferred awards to the winners of the ‘Isang

cooperation with the Department of the Interior and Local Government

SP stops motor shows in Pangasinan
A resolution was passed by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) deferring the holding of motor
shows in all towns and cities following an accident during a motor show in Mapandan town on
the night of November 19 where one spectator was killed and three others were injured.

College student found dead in mini dam


A 22-year-old college student was found dead in a mini dam in Barangay San Francisco,
Bugallon town Sunday morning, November 27 and the League of the Municipalities-Pangasinan
Chapter headed by Lingayen Mayor Leopoldo Bataoil, has sought a deeper investigation by the
police and other investigating bodies into her death.

SOME 158 job applicants were hired on-the-spot at the Diamond Jubilee Jobs Fair organized by
the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) on November 26, 2022 at the City Astrodome.

Region 1 records 160% increase in measles


THE Department of Health–Center for Health Development Region I (DOH-CHD 1) recorded 138
measles cases over the period January-November 24 in the Ilocos Region, representing a 160-
percent increase in measles cases compared to same period last year.

Junior Level Science Scholarship (JLSS) program of DOST’s Science Education Institute (SEI).

Christmas party sa mga paaralan gawing simple - DepEd
MANILA, Philippines — Hiniling ng Department of Education (DepEd) sa mga
pampublikong paaralan na gawing simple pero makabuluhan ang gagawing
Christmas party kaugnay ng pagdiriwang ng Kapaskuhan.
Sa naipalabas na DepEd Order No. 052-2022, na nilagdaan ni Vice President
at Education secretary Sara Duterte, nakasaad dito na kailangang magtipid
dahil sa kasalukuyang kundisyon ng ekonomiya ng bansa.

“The whole Department of Education (DepEd) community is urged to strive for


a genuine celebration of hope, unity and service for others,” sabi ni Duterte.

Nakasaad din sa kautusan na kailangang boluntaryo at hindi magastos ang


gagawing Christmas party themes, costumes, decorations, at exchange gifts
ng mga estudyante upang hindi masaktan masyado ang bulsa ng mga
magulang ng mga mag-aaral.

Dapat din umanong boluntaryo ang kontribusyon sa pagdiriwang ng Pasko sa


mga paaralan at opisina maging cash man ito o in-kind.

Walang mag-aaral at tauhan ng DepEd ang pipiliting mag-contribute, makiisa


o gumastos ng kanilang pera para sa selebrasyon. Dapat din isama sa
selebrasyon ang mga mag-aaral at tauhan kahit wala silang maibigay na
kontribusyon o dalang regalo.

Inatasan din ng DepEd ang mga schools at officials na mag-recycle ng


lumang Christmas decors at huwag bibili ng bagong dekorasyon. Walang
mag-aaral at DepEd personnel ang aatasang gumawa ng dekorasyon para sa
Christmas party.

Niliwanag din sa kautusan na ang Christmas party sa mga paaralan ay


maaaring gawin sa class hours bastat hindi nakakaapekto sa scheduled
lesson plans.

Hindi rin pinapayagan ang solicitations kahit cash o in-kind para sa Christmas
parties o holiday celebrations.

Samantala, ang mga private schools, community learning centers gayundin


ang mga state/local universities and colleges (SUCs/LUCs) ay maaaring mag-
adopt sa naturang kautusan ng DepEd bilang batayan ng kanilang
pagdiriwang ng Christmas party.
