The student's extrovert and introvert personality

In this article, the authors investigate the relationship between students' extrovert and introvert
personalities and their performance in speaking skills in English as a second language. The study
involves 40 university students in Indonesia who took a personality assessment and an oral
presentation in English in front of their classmates. The results of the study suggest that
extroverted students require significantly higher oral presentation scores than introverted
students. In addition, a positive connection was found between the extroverted personality and
the confidence in the oral presentation. The authors conclude that the extroverted personality
plays an important role in the performance of speaking skills in a second language and suggests
that teachers pay attention to the personality differences of students when planning and designing
learning activities in the classroom. In general, this article its useful for our investigation since it
provides valuable information on how student's personalities can affect their performance in
speaking skills in English as a second language.
