Suede boot clean and recolour

Colours fade over time, and suede is especially
susceptible to this problem. These shoes came in
looking faded and worn and were due for a Suede
clean and dye.

Our Process
1. Before focusing on the dyeing of the suede, we
spent the time to clean and wash the suede so that
the dyes would take properly. To begin the suede
clean and dye, we used the Saphir Gommadin
Medaille d’Or Suede Eraser to remove stains and
marks. This was followed by removing the crumbs
with the Saphir Suede Crepe Brush. With bristles
made from soft crepe (natural rubber), it’s extremely
gentle-going on soft surfaces, leaving them clean
but never damaged.
2. Once cleaned, we used Saphir Omni’Nettoyant
Suede Shampoo Cleaner to bring the suede back to
being silky smooth. Its delicate formula hydrates and
rejuvenates weary suede, resulting in shoes that
look as good as new.
3. We were able to colour match and dye the suede
with Saphir Teinture Francaise. Importantly, we
matched as closely to the original colour as
possible. 
4. Finally, we waterproofed and nourished the
finished boots with Saphir Renovateur Suede &
Nubuck Conditioning Spray. It is specifically
designed to condition, protect and recolour suede,
nubuck and textiles. In contrast, heavier cream
conditioners can destroy suede, making your shoes
look ruffled and old.
