1.8 FIELD QUALITY CONTROL

A. Manufacturer's Field Services for Specialized Concrete and Processes: Manufacturer's qualified
technical representative shall inspect first day's Work and periodically inspect Work to ensure
installation is proceeding in accordance with manufacturer/fabricator's designs,
recommendations, instructions, and warranty requirements for specialized concrete and
processes. Provide services for following specialized products and processes.

1. Floor and Slab Treatments including:

a. Slip resistant aggregate finish.

b. Mineral dry shake floor hardener.

c. Penetrating liquid floor hardener and sealer.

2. Concrete underlayment, self-leveling concrete toppings, and overlay/repair mortars

3. Crack repair/injection.

B. Flatness and Levelness Inspection of Floor Slabs: The Owner may employ and pay a qualified
independent testing agency (Inspector) to perform following testing for floor flatness. Retesting of
materials failing to meet specified requirements shall be done at Contractor's expense.

1. Provide qualified Floor Flatness Inspector with necessary equipment to determine flatness and
levelness of interior floor slabs designated to receive troweled finish. Data shall be collected in manner
consistent with requirements of ASTM E 1155 and using Type II Apparatus.

2. Floor Flatness Inspector will coordinate with Contractor to establish measurement program and desired
lines for data collection, in accordance with requirements of ASTM E 1155.

3. Floor Flatness Inspector will mark clearly on floor surface beginning point and ending point of each line
of data. These marks are to be accompanied by numerical designation of line and letter "S"tart or "E"nd,
as appropriate.

4. Those lines of data which will be used to study time-dependent behavior of floor will be collected along
chalk line which has been established by Inspector. Each chalk line is to be protected in manner which
will allow subsequent data to be collected at same locations.

5. Measurements shall be made within 24 hours after completion of concrete finishing operations.

6. Immediately following data collection, Inspector will process data. Contractor will provide Inspector with
actual elevation of "S"tart and "E"nd point for each data line marked by Inspector.

7. Within 48 hours of data collection, Inspector will provide Contractor with written report stating results of
