 LIBRARY AUTOMATION

SLSU-JGE student ID’s were already encoded and

updated in the library system so that they can borrow reference
materials they needed. Library users were oriented on how to use
the Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC) for easy retrieval of
books and other reference materials they need.
Furthermore, the librarian and the library staff/IT
attended a free training-workshop at the National Library of the
Philippines dated September 15-16, 2022. The said training-
workshop was about the KOHA Integrated Library System, a web-
based and open source library automation software which features
cataloguing, union catalog facility, online circulation, patron card
creation, barcode printing, report generation, and patron self-
registration form through OPAC.
To date, the library personnel are busy importing
existing encoded files from Concourse to KOHA and continuous
study on how the KOHA Integrated Library System works. The
link will be shared once the importing of files and encoding patrons
were done.
