Activities
A way of life in which leisure and
free time play a prominent role.

Leisure Leisure activities (e.g., hobbies,


recreation, self-selected

replace obligatory activities (e.g.,
work for pay), as is the case for
people who have retired from
full-time paid employment.

Photography
- literally means 'drawing with light', which
derives from the Greek photo, meaning light
and graph, meaning to draw.
- the process of recording an image – a
photograph – on light sensitive film or, in the
case of digital photography, via a digital
electronic or magnetic memory.
Gardening
- the laying out and care of a plot of
ground devoted partially or wholly to
the growing of plants such as
flowers, herbs, or vegetables.
Camping
- an outdoor activity involving
overnight stays away from home,
either without shelter or using basic
shelter such as a tent or
a recreational vehicle.
Kayaking
- a low-to-the-water, canoe-like boat
in which the paddler sits facing
forward, legs in front, using a double-
bladed paddle to pull front-to-back
on one side and then the other in
rotation.
Bowling

- a target sport and recreational


activity in which a player rolls
a ball toward pins or another target
Snowboarding
- a recreational and competitive activity
that involves descending a snow-covered
surface while standing on a snowboard
that is almost always attached to a rider's
feet. It features in the Winter Olympic
Games and Winter Paralympic Games.
Hourseback Riding
- the art of riding a horse and controlling
the animal's movement and speed with
maximum effectiveness and minimum
efforts.
Snorkeling
- the practice of swimming on or through
a body of water while equipped with a
diving mask, a shaped breathing tube
called a snorkel, and usually swim fins.
Ziplining
- a cable suspended above an
incline to which a pulley and
harness are attached for a
rider.
Rockclimbing
-a sport in which participants climb up,
across, or down natural rock formations
or artificial rock walls. The goal is to reach
the summit of a formation or the endpoint
of a usually pre-defined route without
falling.
