What can you learn from the story of the Holy Family?

The story of the Holy Family can provide a moral that can be used as a reminder
in our daily lives. The story has taught me three lessons that I can apply. The first is that
"With God, nothing is impossible.”. I may always believe that doing this and that, having
this and that, is impossible. However, God will always find a way to make things
happen, especially if He knows we deserve and are worthy of it. Like in the story, Mary
and Elizabeth believed and lost hope that they would not be able to bear a son. But just
as they are about to do so, God gives them the greatest news and blessing that an
impossible thing would be possible with Him. And this scenario in the story has given
me hope that what I believe is impossible may occur soon. It also taught me that
miracles can happen no matter what your circumstances are especially if we will put our
faith and obedience in Him.

The second lesson I've learned is that "we are born with a purpose/mission in
this world.”. Just as Jesus and John had missions to complete, we, as ordinary people,
have a mission/purpose in life. It could be simple or difficult. But one thing is certain: our
birth did not happen by chance, but as part of God's plan to give us life. We may have
different missions/purposes to fulfill, but we all have one thing in common: that we came
into this world to serve God.

The last lesson I've learned is that "Jesus is our hope." I may have already
learned and understood this, but reading the story reminded me of what I had learned. If
we think He has failed us simply because we did not get what we wanted when we
asked for it, we are mistaken. It could be because He didn't want that to happen
because it would tear us apart, or it could be because it was an obstacle we needed to
overcome in order to receive something even better. As Toni Gonzaga stated:
“Sometimes God will destroy our plans when He sees that our plans are going to
destroy us”. I felt that, because, rather than doubting Him, we should put our faith in
Him, because He is our hope and savior.

The Temptation of Jesus tells the story of Jesus' encounter with Satan and how
He overcame Satan's temptations. Temptation is not a new concept for anyone, and it
has existed since the beginning of time. Despite the fact that temptations can be found
everywhere, it is up to us to resist and overcome these temptations.

This story has taught me a valuable lessons about temptation: "temptations are
everywhere” and “temptations originated from Satan. Despite our youth, temptations
were always present; we just didn't realize it. And we are still being tempted to this day.
I was tempted a while ago to just go through my social media and do this activity later,
but I realized that if I didn't resist this temptation, I wouldn't be able to complete my
schoolwork. Satan tempts us relentlessly throughout our lives. He will try to tempt us at
any time, in any situation, and in any manner. Instead of succumbing to temptation, we
should follow Jesus in overcoming it. Temptations, for me, are also a test for us to make
the right decision not only for our benefit, but also for our own sake. It is a test to show
God that no matter what temptations we face, we will not be shaken and will continue to
place our trust in Him.
