DEFINITION
Recount text is a text which
retells events or experiences
in the past.
Recount text is a type of English text
that retells events or events in the
past. The story can be in the form of
action or activity before someone
writes the text.
PURPOSE
There are several purposes of
recount text:

Provide information to the reader or


the listener; Entertain the readers or
the listener; Reflecting on
something; Documenting important
experiences; Study history.
GENERIC STRUCTURE
Orientation, Series of Events,
Re-orientation

Orientation: the contents of the orientation is


information about the character, location, time of
occurrence, etc.
Events: In this section, the writer will write down a
series of events/events that they experienced (the
essence of the recount text).
Re-orientation: In this section, the author will
provide a summary and conclusion of the whole
story as well as tell the ending (sad/happy).
LANGUAGE FEATURES
1. Using simple past tense (Last week, my friends and
I went to Jogja)

Borobudur Temple, Muara Angke, Geusan Ulun
