For years, Silangan Elementary School, has done

several outreach programs to the residents of the

During the early 80's, one of the schools in Taguig which had a rapid growth in
enrolment was Tenement Elementary School. Due to its limited space, a place in

Maharlika Road Upper Bicutan was preferred to be the new location of the
building. The school became an Annex, thus given the name of Tenement
Elementary School (Annex). It started its operation by bringing in some of the
grades 1-5 pupils from the main school to become its population during the first
operation on SY 1983-1984. Eight teachers from the main were assigned to hold
the different class with Mrs. Rosalina V. Vasquez as the Officer-In-Charge under
the supervision of the current principal, the late Mrs. Melita Lamatao.

Since then, its enrolment grew bigger and turned into a complete elementary school
and it has to be separated from the main because of its present status. It became an
independent school and later named as Silangan Elementary School.
Years later, other principal were assigned in succession, Mrs. Marina Evangelista
and Mrs. Teresita de Jesus, along with the additional new teachers and enrollees.
The teachers' number grew into less than a hundred and bringing the school into a
Principal II category under the term of Mrs. Felisa A. Binuya and the late Dr.
Remedios A. Antonio. WELL ROUNDED EXCELLENCE
The principal was replaced last 2016 in the name of Dr. Flordelyn T. Umagat.
Presently, the school has 49 classrooms, 5,348 enrollees including Kindergarten
and also consists of 146 teachers.

FINEST FACULTY Outside the standard framework of any educational

curriculum, there are endless opportunities for students here
at Silangan Elementary School that let them learn new skills
and ignite new passions. Extracurricular activities under
different organizations such as Math Club, Journalism, BSP,

GSP, and a lot more, are a vital element in any child’s
development, often building on lessons and learnings that
