(MEEC 101A)

 COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course guide is designed to teach you the principles and components of
automobiles and its safety. Contained within this course are basic principles in
automobiles, and component such as suspension system, body and chassis, brake
system; steering system; clutches; and transmission system. Each modules presents
concepts and topics about a particular component system and divided into lessons
which covers every subcomponents. At the end of each lesson, learning activities are
provided to assess your understanding and may require you to conduct more research
to cover other important concepts and to meet the intended learning outcomes.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

At the end of the course, the students should have been able to:

1. Identify and explain the working of the various parts of automobile like
transmission, clutches and brakes
2. Describe how steering and suspension system operates.
3. Suggest remedies to common automotive problems
4. Determine the safety practices and procedures within the automotive industry.

 COURSE REQUIREMENTS

1. Attend google class as required


2. Have active class participation as required
3. Submit required activities as scheduled; and
4. Take and pass the required periodical examination

 GRADING SYSTEM

Module Exercises and Summative test - 60%

Midterm/Final Examination - 40%

Total 100%
