Accommodation is the process by which the vertebrate eye changes optical power to maintain a clear

image or focus on an object as its distance varies. In this, distances vary for individuals from the far point
—the maximum distance from the eye for which a clear image of an object can be seen, to the near
point—the minimum distance for a clear image

Digital Eye Strain- Describes a group of eye- and vision-related problems that result from prolonged
computer, tablet, e-reader and cell phone use.

Ebook- An ebook, also known as an e-book or eBook, is a book publication made available in digital
form, consisting of text, images, or both, readable on the flat-panel display of computers or other
electronic devices.

E book reader- An e-reader, also called an e-book reader or e-book device, is a mobile electronic device
that is designed primarily for the purpose of reading digital e-books and periodicals.

Electronic resources (or e-resources) are materials in digital format accessible electronically. Examples of
e-resources are electronic journals (e-journal), electronic books (e-book) online databases in varied
digital formats, Adobe Acrobat documents (. pdf), WebPages (. htm, . html, .)

Memex- A memex is a device in which an individual can store books, records, and various
communications.T he device is mechanized so that it may be consulted with exceeding speed and
flexibility

Occular- The leading causes of blindness and low vision in the United States are primarily age-related
eye diseases such as age-related macular degeneration, cataract, diabetic retinopathy, and glaucoma.

Zonules- The zonules are the tiny thread-like fibers that hold the eye’s lens firmly in place. The zonules
also work with the ciliary muscles to help the lens accommodate (change focus). The zonule fibers
tighten and pull the lens for near vision. They relax as the lens flattens for distance vision.

Equatorial zonular- The Zonule of Zinn, or ciliary zonule, is the elaborate system of extracellular fibers
that centers the lens in the eye. In humans, the fibers transmit forces that flatten the lens during the
process of disaccommodation, thereby bringing distant objects into focus.

Convex- The lens present in the human eye is a convex lens. The light is refracted and focused on the
retina by the lens in the eye. The biconvex lens in the eye, unlike the typical lens, can alter form.

Ciliary muscle- The ciliary muscle is an intrinsic muscle of the eye formed as a ring of smooth muscle in
the eye's middle layer, uvea (vascular layer).

them as electric signals through the optic nerve to the brain.

Eye fatigue happens when your eyes are in pain due to being overworked beyond their capacity. Eye
fatigue occurs when the muscles in our eye fail to receive enough rest, hydration, and protection from
harsh computer screen glare over long periods.
