Actuators:

The actuators are used in Boiler system are used to control flow of the water,
pressure, temperature and etc. Actuators are devices that converts an
electrical or mechanical signal to a physical motion or force. In the boiler
control system, they are used to control the valves, pumps, and regulate the
flow of water, steam and etc.
 Electrical Actuators:
They are commonly used in level control system for Boiler to control the
flow of water and steam and to maintain a safe level of these parameters by
controlling the valves and pumps that regulate flow of water and steam in
and out. When the sensor detects that the level of water or steam is rising to
much it then activates the electric actuator which closes or opens the valve
according to the need at that time.
 Solenoid Valve:
They are commonly used in level control of boiler System to control the
flow of water, steam, fuel, and maintain the stable level of the Boiler.
Solenoid valves are electrically operated valves using a solenoid or a
magnetic coil inside them. When a sensor detects that the level of water, fuel
or steam has risen from a defined level it makes the solenoid valve closes or
open as required by the need of the boiler so it does not get damaged.

 Motorized ball valves

They are commonly used in level control systems for Boilers to control the
flow of water, fuel, steam and maintain a safe and stable water, fuel, steam
 level. Motorized ball valves are valves that use a motor to control the flow of
fluid. When a level sensor detects that the water, fuel, steam level has
reached a certain threshold, it sends a signal to the control system, which
then activates the motorized ball valve to open or close, allowing or
restricting the flow.

 Gate valves:
Gate valves are commonly used in level control systems for controlling the flow
of water, fuel and steam in Boiler system. The main function of gate valves is to
regulate the flow of fluid by opening or closing a gate within the valve.
 In level control systems for Boiler system, gate valves are used to control the
flow in and out of the Boiler. When a level sensor detects that the water,
fuel and steam level has reached a certain threshold, it sends a signal to the
control system, which then activates the gate valve to open or close,
allowing or restricting the flow.
Pneumatic Actuator
It uses pneumatic systems powered by compressed air to open and close the valve.

Hydraulic Actuator
It uses hydraulic systems powered by pressurized fluid to open and close the valve.

What all three variants have in common is that they make valves work faster than
manual operation. They are often used especially in large valves. All actuators are
actuated by electrical energy. Actuators allow intermediate positions in addition to
opening and closing the valve. With the limit switch boxes, i-p converters and
positioners mounted on these actuators, the open/closed position of the valve can
be tracked and the position information can be transmitted to the automation
system.
