Safety Calendar 10

Rationale: Collaboration, Vision/Mission, Moral Legal Considerations

The first step in preparing teachers, students, staff, and the school community for success

in an emergency scenario is to create a safety calendar. An excellent technique to perform an

organized practice of all the exercises is to plan them out in advance.

The mission and vision statement of the school drives the school to success. “Preparing

students today for a successful tomorrow”, is the vision at Hyde Park School(Hyde Park,

2022).The mission statements states,

“At Hyde Park, we are committed to helping our students succeed in today’s

global society through academic, social, and emotional growth. Hyde Park

consists of: students, families, school staff, and community members who work

cohesively to educate our students. We will continue to provide a safe

environment in which to inspire critical thinkers and life-long learners” (Hyde

Park, 2022).

Following our mission and vision, it is important for a safety calendar to be in place so

that all students can succeed. In order to have a level head and be as safe as possible at school,

instructors and students will benefit from having procedures in place and using them frequently.

By considering the welfare and safety of the faculty, staff, and students, the establishment of

safety measures promotes the school's goal and vision. Academic success has been shown to

enhance when pupils can learn in safe conditions.

Safety Calendar 11

Collaboration among staff members, district employees, and local authorities will

optimize the time and communication required for the safety drills. To make changes or increase

efficiency, it is essential to provide employees and students rapid feedback. Teachers will be

more prepared to protect themselves and their pupils if school improvement meetings are used to

reflect on the previous day's events and review protocols.

As the leader of the building there are many legal and moral consequence, I am

responsible for when the students and staff are in the building. I would need to have an organized

calendar where I can show the district office who reports to the board of education, that we are

following our state, district, and national’s law to enforce safety drills. I need to submitted all

paperwork to district office by May 15, to show that my school has been in compliance with all

drills. If I do not comply with drill and there happens to be an emergency, student and staff

would not know how to respond causing a serious injury.
