One of the most challenging class yet exciting course I have ever taken is BTMA. This course

helped me learn about Data analysis, Microsoft Access, and Power BI, which are critical analytical

tools for any business. We learned how to use these tools because of group assignments, and

Muskaan Dhugga (Group member) helped me a lot, especially whenever I was confused. These

group assignments not only helped me gain knowledge on the topic but also helped me develop

other soft skills. Establishing a solid team contract has made us more reliable and committed when

working on group projects. By generating ideas and collaborating, group assignments also helped

simplify complex problems and make them easier to understand. These team skills allow me to

work with different teams to get the best results so that they will be helpful in my future career.

Since I plan on starting my clothing brand, this course gave me the information I needed to succeed

in a rapidly changing marketplace. Of all the chapters I read at BTMA, my favorites were E-

Business and E-Commerce. These chapters have given me a solid understanding of how e-business

works and its strengths and weaknesses. They also gave me the confidence to start my own online

business and succeed. All the analytical tools and other skills I learned in this course will help me

find a good job and start my own business in the future.

I faced some challenges in this course, but they developed into my strength. I was very nervous

about the presentation in class. I wanted to text the group members, “I can’t do it,” but I asked

myself, how will I make my dreams come true if I do not try to overcome my fear? And I ended

up doing a presentation in class, which helped me overcome my stage fear. With the same

motivation, effort, and confidence, I will be able to overcome my fear of public speaking soon.

Speaking confidently in public is an essential skill in the workplace. I am glad that I overcame that

fear whenever the opportunity arose. Another problem I ran into was when creating one of the
3

queries, and we overcame this challenge by spending more time and effort. The lesson I learned

from this experience is to do my best in everything I do. I have discovered that hard work and

dedication are valuable life skills that will prove invaluable in my future workplace. I will use the

skills I have learned so far in my work. Thanks to this course and Professor Peter Taylor for helping

me acquire the skills.

In summary, the BTMA course was both an exciting and challenging experience for me. I gained

valuable knowledge and skills in Data analysis, Microsoft Access, and Power BI, and soft skills

such as teamwork and problem-solving. I also overcame my fear of public speaking and learned

the importance of hard work and dedication. Overall, this course prepared me well for my future

path and career.
