I think, for that matter any new idea is called controversial because most people challenge the

established beliefs and norms of the time. They are used to thinking in only one way that they are
certain to believe, and the new ideas that they develop contradict their beliefs in life and often lead to
their resistance.
A new idea involves a change that will have some effect on our current status in the world. We don't
want change. We don't want to go out of our comfort zone even if it's uncomfortable. So, we tend to
create controversy around new ideas, to avoid this kind of thing.

I think that's why people accept these new discoveries,

because they find proof or evidence to accept it.
Especially, they welcome these new discoveries
because they know they have been well studied
through scientific research. And maybe they accept it
because they want to increase their perception or belief
in life. As humans, we will not accept something new
if we know it has no purpose and benefit in our lives.
I think for me, these intellectual revolutions have contributed a lot to societies, especially it provides
great benefits to people's daily lives. For example, complex work can be more easier and people do their
jobs or work with lesser effort because of the new technologies invented.
