Incorporation of SWAYAM-NPTEL Portal with UG and PG Curriculum

General Instructions

Swayam Portal is a platform to achieve three cardinal principles of Education

Policy viz. access, equity and quality by decreasing the digital divide for
students.

Courses delivered through this portal are free of cost to learners however for
certificate one has to give final proctored exams that come with a fee (very low
rates).

Benefits to Students:

 Access to high-quality content:

o NPTEL courses provide access to high-quality study materials,
including video lectures, lecture notes and assignments.
 Certification:
o NPTEL courses offer the opportunity to earn a certification upon
successful completion, which can help students to demonstrate

 Course Selection:
o Faculty members can scroll through courses being offered on
SWAYAM-NPTEL portal and can recommend one among these
courses that align with college curriculum or complement it.
o We can keep this list as record (for NAAC purpose).

 Encourage Students to Register:
o Students can register on portal by following the link:

o One approach can be to make it mandatory for the students to
enrol and complete the course.
o Students are to be advised to register with ABC (Academic Bank of
Credits) portal also.

 Facilitate Learning:
o We can ensure that students have access to the Swayam Portal
through computer labs /e-Resource Center or the college’s Wi-Fi.
o Further, students can use their own devices and can also learn at
their own pace and time.
 Monitor Progress:
o We can keep track of the students’ who complete the recommended
courses on the Swayam Portal to further motivating them till the
completion of the course.
 Recognize Achievement:
o Recognize the achievement of students who complete courses on
the Swayam Portal.
o One of the approach can be done by giving them credit as part of
Internal Assessment towards their college degree.
