A pleasant day to you my dear student it's time for another

adventure to the world of language so just relax breathe in

and breathe out for today's lesson we will be exploring
about the world of propaganda by the way what do you
mean by propaganda ?

- Propaganda is the way of communicating people that is

primarily used to influence an audience that may not be
objectively or fairly done but selectively presenting facts
and information to encourage and persuade you as an
audience using loaded language
( powerful words) and sugar-coated ones to encourage
and persuade you as an audience, using loaded language
and sugar-coated ones to beautify the information in order
to produce an emotional rather than a rational response to
the information that is being presented or should say to
produce judgment from the people using the heart the
emotion rather than a careful and wise judgment.
have you seen different advertisements?
-have you noticed that it uses different techniques in order
to sell the products in order to be loved by the people, by
the audience, by the viewers those things are called
propaganda techniques, and that's exactly our lesson for
today and by knowing this you will become aware about
everything before believing and considering the
information presented. Now we'll find out we have different
propaganda techniques but let us have some of propaganda
techniques.

PROPAGANDA DEVICE/TECHNIQUES

1. BANDWAGON- Bandwagon attempts to persuade the

target audience to take a course of action "everyone
else is taking." "Join the crowd." This technique
reinforces people's natural desire to be on the winning
side.

Exmple class: The ad that you’ve watched just now ,

says that many people love their product easily; it
makes you think that it must be good, and it would
push you to try it.

To make it more clearer class, band wagon is

paghihikayat kung saan hinihimok ang lahat na
gamitin ang isang produkto o sumali sa isang pangkat
dahil ang lahat ay sumali na.

Halimbawa: Sinasabi sa isang advertisement na ikaw

nalang ang hindi symasali, ikaw nalang ang hindi pa
bumibili, syempre para hindi ka mapag iwanan bibili
ka. Don’t be left behind, in other words class sasabay
ka sa trend.

2. TESTIMONIAL- when we say testimonials this is one

of the most scene probably techniques usually on tv
commercials with the use of respected celebrities to
endorse a product.
Just like in the picture, lebron James is a famous
basketball player who eats at macdonald, probaly class
he indorse a certain product or the food corporation
macdonalds,

So yun na nga class. Kapag testimonial gumagamit ng

isang sikat na personalidad tapos siya ang nag
eendorso ng isang tao o produkto. This technique is
used to convince us without examining the facts more
carefully. For instance indeed there are lots of
commercials out there that use different outdoors or
models to represent the product. Another one Just like
in shampoo world class we have this pretty and
famous actresses who advertise the product.
Example: Silka endorse by Sue ramirez and since
gwapa siya class hamizz, it will make tou believe that it
is the reason for her gorgeous looks.
3. PLAIN FOLKS- The use of everyday people to sell a
product or service. Speakers and ads appear to make
the person to be “one of the people”. This technique
use A convincing method to show they are just
common people.

4. NAME CALLING- name calling or stereotyping from

the word stereotype Merriam- Webster dictionary says
that to stereotype means to believe fairly that all
people or things with a particular characteristics are
the same for instance a beautiful and curly hair woman
often generalized as antagonist in movies. Pag sinabing
Kulot Contrabida yarn.

Pagbibigay ng hindi magandang taguri sa isang

produkto o katunggaling politico upang hindi
tangkilikin.

Example: Shown in the picture Can we let a shrimp like

this run out great country?

Shirmp here refer to very small or lacking of position,

not capable off.

Another example: Bagitong kandidato trapo tinatawag

siyang (traditional politician) at kong mapapansin
ninyo sa ads sa patalastas nilalagyan ng grand X ang
tawag doon name calling.

5. CARD STACKING-Ipinapakita rito ang lahat ng

magagandang katangian ng produkto ngunit hindi
binabanggit ang hindi magandang katangian.

Halimbawa: Instant noodles ay nakakapapabuklod ng

pamilya. At ginagawa nito na pagsamasamahin ang
buung pamilya sa hapagkainan sa pagkain ng instant
noodles pero kong mapapansin natin hindi naman
binabanggit don sa patalastas na iyon na kapag
madalas tayong kumain ng instant noodles ay
magkakaroon ng nigatibong epekto ito sa ating
kalusugan.

6. Emotional Words-

7. GLITERING GENERALITIES- “Virtue words” or

glittering generality these words are used to took us
into accepting or approving of things without
examining the evidence carefully for examples the
word natural democratic organic scientific ecological
sustainable believing that this product is all natural
organic and sustainable we people tend to easily
believe it without taking further consideration what we
see is what we believe without second thought it will
always be a yes for us that is why careful judgment is
very important commercials in tv use this very often
they describe their products as flawless as possible so
you will eager to buy it without hesitation.

Another example:

8. Repetition-

2. TRANSFER- It is when a symbol that carries respect

authority sanction and prestige is used along with an
idea or argument to make it look more acceptable for
example American flag, university seal medical
association symbol or something that looks like it. This
method is also called guilt or virtue by association for
instance to give the word hope war convincing power
this uses the face of the former president barack
obama a symbol to highlight the word hope.

- Another example to give more emphasis on the

phrase be proud of yourself it incorporates the flag
of the philippines that may symbolize be proud as
a filipino or be proud on who you are.

Ang paggamit ng isang sikat na personalidad upang

mailipat sa isang produkto o tao ang kasikatan niya.
Ang endorser ng JOY ay kilalang kilala natin na si
Michael V yung kasikatan ni Michel V ay naipasa na sa
JOY dishwashing liquid yun ay transfer. Ganun din
naman ang magic flakes.
