something of a particular type.

Example: that boy, my car, a soldier,

an ant, the girl and etc.

articles. combines with the noun to
indicate the type of
reference being made by a
noun.

Thank you, Shayra!

The letter a, the word an and the word

the are what we called articles.

The article a and the word an are

indefinite articles. Why? Because it is
used to modify non-specific and non-
particular nouns.

So, how about the word the?

Yes, Raquel? The word the is considered

as definite article.

Why?

Yes, Elly?

a specific nouns.
The word the is use to modify a specific
or particular nouns.

Mae. become a doctor.

Thank you, Gene Mae.

Who can give another example?

Yes, Erika? I saw a car yesterday.

placed before a word that begins with a
vowel.

the class?

Yes, Sheila? I need an ice cream for

tomorrow’s event.

Very good, Sheila!

The last article will be the word the,

which is used to refer a specific person,
thing or idea.
