I chose Young Venture trip to Ghana because of my neighbor who also uses Young Venture. And
have been recommended. Then a friend and I chose to go with a team down to Ghana and
experience Ghana's culture and people.

We flew 16 hours long over to Accra airport, where we of course made a stopover in Amsterdam.
When we arrived, we had to go by bus to get to our hotel. The heat in Africa was unbearable as it
was 30 degrees every day of the trip. It was an extremely interesting experience as I had never
been to Africa before. The people had things on their heads and there were local stalls all the way.

When we arrived at the hotel, we were supposed to have dinner. I was introduced to the local
food culture. You can quickly tell the difference between African man and African man, as they use
extreme amounts of chili in their dishes. I'm not a chili person, but itwas an exciting and different
taste experience. I certainly didn't realize how strong and spicy their food can be.

The day after our 2 guides came, their English names were Abdul and Musaka. They were
extremely intelligent and friendly. Abdul was about 20 and Musaka was 18. Abdul and Musaka
were going to show us the savannas of Ghana. We were supposed to drive 5 hours to the
savannahs, but that was all bouts. It was one of my most beautiful and wonderful experiences. We
got out and drove in the open countryside, I experienced rich nature and the impressive wildlife.
You saw exotic animals like elephants, lions, and giraffes.

On the third day, we went shopping at the local markets. where I experienced the trading culture
in Ghana. The markets were filled with colorful goods, fragrant spices, and unique handicrafts. It
was an extremely special experience. Markets were very probated, there were people everywhere.
It was so big that we walked in there for 4 hours, just to get through. But it was a cool experience.
When we got home, we had to move hotel, as we were going out to visit a slave fort and they were
close to the water. Day four we left for the slave fort. It was 35 degrees when we arrived. So, we
were dying of heat. We found a place and shelter. Until our guide came and leda dark story about
the horrors of the slave trade. Ghana's and Denmark's role in it. I was completely in shock when
you could start and form pictures from the school lessons you have had about it. There were
chains and blood from the slaves. We went home and spent the last one by the pool on our hotel
before flying home.

I would recommend Young Venture, despite the challenges with garbage and the strong food I got.
It was an unforgettable trip and very educational trip. When I got the opportunity to experience
the natural beauty of the country and experience the locals. The trip gave me a deeper
understanding of Ghana's culture and society. I want Young Venture another time. the chance to
experience the natural beauty of the country, engage with the locals, and reflect on historical
events. It was a journey that broadened your horizons and gave you a deeper understanding of
Ghana's culture and society.
