It is a great honor for me to be a part of IOM Nurse and as a UN Volunteer .My role was nursing care for a
broad range of patients from infants to senior citizens within various scenarios including Covid19 Suspected
and confirmed patients, Severe Acute Respiratory infectious diseases, medical care and emergency room .One
of the things I find challenging about moving to a new place is making friends and addressing new Diseases.
So in Teknaf, especially the first few months, I would grab any opportunity to meet new people, visit new
places, join training,etc. Personally, where there is an international community of people — I never feel alone.
Being a part of this community turned out to be very helpful.I'm pleased with my assignment with IOM Nurse -
as a UN Volunteer.It has allowed me to benefit from the experience of maintaining Covid 19 patients and
mitigating Covid19 through the project. It is a rewarding experience both -professionally and personally. I
Gained new skills, experience, knowledge, confidence, self-esteem and experienced full cultural immersion
and Develop life-long relationships with fellow volunteers and patients.

heal the patient.
 As a Caregiver, I provided direct hands-on
care to patients in a variety of settings. I
help the ill patient manage physical needs,
prevent illness and treat the health
condition. I also prepared patients for
treatments and made assessments. The
family member of the COVID-19 patient
cannot stay with the patient so we have to
take the overall responsibility of the patient.
I didn't just treat the patient, I also did the
paperwork. We did many times follow up
with the patients and give medication in
time. I had recorded it. I used to pay
attention to the food of the patients that our
agency provided.
Emotional and Psychological support is the
best treatment for this COVID-19 patient.
Because No family member stays with the
COVID-19 patient that is why emotional
and psychological support is very useful for
the patients. The COVID-19 patient had to
stay in the hospital for a very long time,
that's why I counsel patients and provide
emotional and psychological support to the
patient at a time.
During this period I also managed the store
room. I have recorded how many items have
arrived in the store room and how many
items are being spent. I learned many things
in this time.
