1
CONSTRUCTION OF AN AUDIO AMPLIFIER USING LM386 IC
(10WATT)

1.0. INTRODUCTION

An audio power amplifier is an electronic amplifier that amplifies low-power

audio signals (signals composed primarily of frequencies between 20 – 20 000
Hz, the human range of hearing) to a level suitable for driving loudspeakers. It

is the final electronic stage in a typical audio playback chain.

1.1 AIM AND OBJECTIVES

The main objective of this work is to design and construct an audio power
amplifier that will deliver appreciable 10w power to the load 8 Ohm speaker.

1.3 PROBLEM STATEMENT

The circuit is meant to provide a solution of amplifying sound using a small

appreciable amount of power from a 9v battery without waiting for the supply
from generator, or mains (NEPA).

2ND PROJECT TTOPIC

CONSTRUCTION OF A SIMPLE LOW POWER INVERTER

1.0. INTRODUCTION

Inverters helps in the conversion of electrical direct current to alternating

current. So as to be utilized by direct current devices, since our home appliances

such as phone chargers, and other DC bulbs do not use ac voltage so the is need

for inverter circuit. Although there the most common form of electricity

generated is in the form of alternating current i.e AC voltage and is sent to

homes and with the help of rectifiers DC is made possible but in instances

where DC is generated from either a battery, solar or any other DC source there

is need for the application or installation of an inverter. The circuit is worked

around only two ICs, to be specific, IC CD4047 and IC ULN2004.

1.1 AIM AND OBJECTIVES

The main objective of this work is to design and construct a simple low-power

inverter that converts 12V DC into 230-240V AC Power Supply.

1.3 PROBLEM STATEMENT

The circuit is meant to provide a solution in the conversion of ac voltage to dc

voltage using a simple and convenient circuit to be utilized and to power light

4
loads like phone chargers and night lamps, or essentially to be used at home for

domestic consumption.

3RD PROJECT TOPIC

CONSTRUCTION OF A DOORBELL-CONTROLLED SECURITY

SWITCH

1.0. INTRODUCTION

One way to check whether anybody is at home is to ring the doorbell. Burglars

too use this very technique. The circuit described here comes handy in such a

situation. It is a simple doorbell-controlled multi-purpose security switch that

instantly powers up a connected security device, say, a night-vision door

camera, for functioning. The circuit works off 9V DC supply. The input of the

circuit is connected in parallel with the 230V AC electric doorbell. An

electromagnetic relay is used at the output of the circuit to activate the security

device connected to it

1.1 AIM AND OBJECTIVES

The main objective of this work is to design and construct 230V AC electric

doorbell that gives the user signal if there is anybody at the door.

1.3 PROBLEM STATEMENT

6
The reason and purpose for the construction if this project to help house owners

know and identify personalities entering or intruding into their homes, and to

also enable visitors to know whether anybody is in a house.
