It’s almost half past five in the morning of Monday of November.

The working
people of Lexington town are inadvertently preparing themselves for their first
day of week. One peculiar fact about weekends is that time moves bizarrely
faster. Perhaps that explains the melancholia of Aurora who woke up
complaining that there is a mistake in her mobile’s date and time because
according to her the weekend had just started. Mornings of Mondays are very
exasperating as one’s to wake up after enjoying the weekend and get ready for
school. That’s one of the reasons why the life of a student is similar to the life
of a saint.

Aurora’s family consists of her Dad, Mom, elder sister, and herself. Her
family is a loving and caring family. It’s just a normal middle class family with
school going children. Aurora’s life is not interesting at school as it is at home.
She is in 12th grade. She is an assiduous student and gives her best to get good
grades and make her family proud. She very much cares about her two best
friends but the feelings are not reciprocated. Her friends tease her for her
skinny appearance, ignore her and even sarcastically bully her from time to
time and say, “We are just being derisive, Aurora. No hard feelings, cry-baby”.

Aurora likes only two things at school - the knowledge she gains from her
teachers and the cute Indian fellow in her class, Rishi. Rishi is very much similar
to Aurora. He is pushed around by his classmate for his skin complexion is dark.
And since he is a boy, you can imagine how hard the boys go on him. Rishi is a
naive, caring and good hearted person. His innocence makes him enchanting.
He is an average student with neither ‘excellent’ grades nor ‘very-poor’ grades.
He is unaware of the feelings Aurora has for him. Aurora tries to show them by
standing up against the tormentors for him. It’s not passing affection that
Aurora has. She genuinely likes Rishi from within her heart.

Today at the start of a new week of November, Aurora has decided to let the
cat out of the bag by confessing to Rishi after school. After three classes,
during the recess time she goes to the Library to check out the newly arrived
novels. Mr. Patrick Wilson is the librarian of her school and the coolest teacher
in the whole school because of his funny remarks.

“Hello Mr. Wilson. How are you?” she greeted.

“Hello there, sunshine. I’m finer than the books round here. What’s up?” he
replied in his cool way.

“Glad to hear, sir. I have come over to see the newly arrived books.” She
said with a smile.

“AH! I totally forgot how big of a bibliophile you are! Come along, madame”
he replied with excitement.

Mr. Wilson takes her to the exclusive section of Library where the newly
arrived books are.
