Sally In this photo I’m with my cousin Lily. She is 10, like me. She is very funny and
cheerful, and likes playing sports and collecting badges – she’s got 160! We
play basketball in the same team, and we are going to play this weekend.
Lucy This is me with my brothers, Leonard and Nick. Leonard is 12, he’s tall and he
likes reading books. Nick is 11, he’s generous and he likes playing the guitar.
They both like chess, too, so they play together a lot.

Dinosaurs called velociraptors are famous because of the film Jurassic Park. The film
makers made them bigger than they were in reality, but it is true that they were very
fast and they were flying dinosaurs. They had feathers and ate meat.
The brachiosaurus was a herbivorous dinosaur. This means it ate leaves and plants.
It was also a quadruped. This means it had four legs. It had a very long neck, and its
back legs were much shorter than its front legs.

Early one morning, on 26th December, a fire started at the home of Emilee Hartley in
Maine, USA. The fourteen-year-old girl was asleep, but the fire alarm woke her up
and she saw fire in the kitchen.
Emilee ran upstairs to wake up her parents and three-year-old brother. She carried
her brother downstairs while her parents called the firefighters.
They couldn’t get out of the door, so Emilee broke a window to
carry her brother to safety.
The family home was destroyed, but because Emilee was so brave,
no one was hurt.
1 Emilee is from
