OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH & SAFETY POLICY
Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq)
is committed to developing and applying effective
occupational health and safety (OH&S) systems, standards
and practices appropriate to risks associated with its
business activities. Moreover, Shurooq is committed
to protecting the safety and health of all employees,
contractors, visitors and the community who are impacted
by our activities and believes that all injuries, industry
related diseases and incidents are preventable. Our
commitment to health and safety is as important as our
commitment to other business objectives. And to achieve
this by:
1. Demonstrate compliance with all applicable safety
and health law and/or industry standards by
integrating these requirements into all aspects of
our business.
2. Develop and apply risk assessment to identify,
assess and safely manage any present or future
potential hazards of Shurooq
3. Assigning adequate resources to maintain healthy,
safe and supportive workplaces
4. Reporting and investigating incidents where
appropriate and acting to prevent re-occurrence
5. Provide instruction, supervision, training and
access to information to all employees to enable
safe work practice that minimize risk to health
6. Establish measurable OSH objectives and targets
to ensure continues improvement in safety and
health performance
7. Improving knowledge, competencies, skills, and
awareness of workers through continual training
and development programs
8. Providing secure, safe, and supportive workplace
for workers and other interested in all the
Company’s activities
9. Shurooq considers women roles and
responsibilities in accordance with the women
health and safety general requirements
