The Foreign Exchange market, also referred to as the ‘Forex’ or ‘FX’ market is the largest financial market in the

Until recently, the FX market has not been for speculative investors in the retail industry due to the large
investment commitment and often stringent financial requirements. Banks, Hedge Funds, Asset Managers,
Pension companies and Insurance companies were the principle participants. These large institutional traders
had exclusive access to the many benefits offered by the foreign exchange market versus other markets,
including the excellent liquidity and the strong trending nature of the World’s primary currency exchange rates,
which has led to level of $5 trillion being traded daily.

About 5% of daily turnover is from companies and governments that buy or sell products and services in foreign
countries or must convert profits made into foreign currencies into their domestic currencies. The other 95% is
traded for profit or speculation.
