Introductory Prayer
Activity Checking of attendance
Review the past lesson and connect it to the new one.
10 mins.
The teacher will have a short story telling about a person who is obese. The
short story is incomplete and the students will be the one to give their ideas
what will happen next.
Guide question:
 What will be the consequence if a person is obese?
 Do you think that being obese will benefit you? In what way?
 What will be the effect in your family, friends, and relatives if you’re an
obese type of person?
Would you agree on this saying: “You are what you eat” ? Why and Why no?
Activity Discuss the connections between lifestyle and weight management
1. Divide learners into groups of five to eight members each.
10 mins 2. Give these instructions to the learners:
a. Each group races to stand behind the chair with the word that they
think significantly connects weight to lifestyle. Only one group can
occupy a chair. Groups could switch places until the signal to stay is
given.
b. Discuss your group’s choice of word or picture. Categorize your
choice: Is it about nutrition/food, or physical activity/exercise?
NOTE: Make sure to explain clearly and extensively the connections between
WEIGHT AND LIFESTYLE using the different words and pictures. Emphasize
that their lifestyle, which included nutrition and physical activity, affects their
weight.
Analysis In a whole sheet of paper, students will enumerate the food they commonly
intake and the physical activities they commonly do at home or at school.

Students will make a short reflection out from their list. They will try to identify
whether it is good for their health or not
Abstraction Identify active recreational activities that can address risk factors of
lifestyle diseases.
10 mins. 1. Group learners with five to eight members each.
2. Give these instructions to the learners:
a. There will be five stations that corresponds to a specific
scenario (gives the risk factors?
b. Each group must race to solve the puzzle to get the risk factor.
After identifying the risk factor, they need to list down the
recreational activity that can lessen/address the risk factor
given.
3. Ask them to contemplate on the following:
- Which scenarios can you relate with the most? Are you aware of
the risk factors in these scenarios?
- How can recreational activities address risk factors?
4. Ask learners to make a summary report and share with the class.
Let their group representative present their summary in class in 3
minutes.
Application The teacher will ask the students to have groupings. Given 15-20
minutes, student will plan and organize for a group activity which is to
15 mins. make a foster making with the Theme “NO to Lifestyle Diseases, Yes to
Sports”

Assessment This activity will clarify the meaning and importance of lifestyle and
weight management and how active reaction contributes to lifestyle and

1. Students will make a summary of the essentials on lifestyle and
weight management and active recreational activities.
2. Distribute the worksheet. Ask learners to do this in their activity
notebook.

NOTE: After the activity, emphasize the relevance of all their lifestyle
choices. Focus on how these choices affect their overall wellness. Make
them realize that as early as teenage years, they should be conscious
about their lifestyle, keeping in mind their physical activity and food
practices.
Assignment Research about vigorous physical activities that can be done at home or
in school.
