Activity Activity: Describe Me!

10 mins a. Display pictures or posters of the paintings of impressionist painter


Claude Monet, expressionist Jose Joya, post-impressionist Van
Gogh, action painting by Jackson Pollock on the wall or board of the
classroom. Let the students go around to view the pictures.
b. On a piece of manila paper beside the painting, have the students
describe each of the pictures of paintings in their own words as they go
around.
c. After 5 minutes, let the students sit down. Let students read the
descriptions.
Analysis 1. Do you like the paintings?
2. Are there any similarities or differences on the description given?

4. What painting that shows melancholy or serenity? Shows exaggeration

2. Let the students listen carefully to each excerpt and be able to
recognize the distinct musical style of each composer.
3. Let them choose a composition that they like.
4. Let them write a short reaction paper on it.
5. Collect their works.
