1. Read and discuss about the history and evolution of the accommodation sector.
Compare to how it is today. Provide at least five (5) differences and explain.

 The history and evolution of the accommodation industry began with human travel and
the requirement for lodging. Early travelers had to rely on word of mouth or opportunities
to find a place to stay because accommodations were mainly provided by community inns
or taverns. Many types of accommodation began to appear as travel became more popular
and advanced. The hospitality industry has changed significantly in recent years. Today,
there are several options for standard hotels for lodging, including hostels, bed &
breakfasts, motels, campsites, holiday rentals, and more.

A lot has changed in years of development and growth, and one difference in the
accommodation sector then and now is the customer experience. The emphasis on the
customer experience has risen significantly in recent years. Today, businesses strive to
provide tourists with more customized, memorable experiences catered to their
requirements and expectations. The second is technology. The accommodation sector has
gone through a change due to the development of modern technology. Booking a room
has become simpler and faster thanks to different consumer-friendly digital
platforms. Another is safety and security. With the use of cutting-edge security systems
and practices, accommodation providers have become more vigilant in assuring the safety
and security of their customers. Next is the cost and the vast array of options. As there
are so many options on the market, there is intense competition, and prices have increased
to those of traditional hotels. And last is customer service. Because of the development of
the hospitality industry, from the advancement of technology to new innovative ideas,
customer service has also upgraded, providing people with their needs and wants more
practically and conveniently.

2. What is your own understanding of 'hospitableness'? Answer should at least three (3)
sentences.

 In my own understanding, “hospitableness” is the quality of being hospitable, or the

willingness and capacity to accept, entertain, and care for guests or visitors in a kind,
friendly, and generous manner. Hospitableness refers to how welcoming and inclusive you
are to visitors and guests. Do you elicit respect and comfort from those who are in your
company? To be hospitable is to make people feel welcome and comfortable by fostering
a pleasant and welcoming environment. It entails paying close attention to their
requirements and giving them a satisfying experience. Hospitableness means going a long
way to make your visitors feel at ease and accepted.
