Esalen XVII

Title of poem:
“Lauren draws random card from deck that Bill
carries around becoming the writing prompt”

600 seconds to
Produce words Poetry, or letters;
Not letters A book, a card, a novel
Constructing sentences Or anything else that matters.
No boundaries except those We all have a story to share,
600 seconds And when we care
Freedom abound We listen to what the other
A page so white Has to say.
On a day so bright Words offered on a tray
The burden so light. Vulnerable and fray.
Will my words, these lines It opens the opportunity
that flow To connect in a
set in motion Different kind of way.
a thought, reaction, an emotion
When they leave this paper 600 seconds
Transmitted by my mouth To express my mind.
Spoken out loud Knowing that it
Traversing through space Will be received with kind
Onto the ears of the crowd So I leave nothing behind
A Joanna, a Rosanna Than the impact of
Gathered here writing. My poetical journey.
