INTRODUCTION

Solar is very good source of energy. By using solar panels, we can save electricity.
It is used for many purposes just to save energy. Solar panels are those devices
which are used to absorb the sun's rays and convert them into electricity or heat,
basically it is a good source of energy saving.

Solar tiffin box is smart solar panel enabled box, charged from sun rays. This is a
tiffin box in which mini solar panel is embedded in it. It allows you to heat your
food just by switching on a button. Heating your food as per your convenience and
automatically turns off. This solar tiffin is made from stainless steel, which keeps
your food warm. The outer material used is plastic. It just takes 10 to 12 minutes to
warm your food properly. There is also an alternate option available for charging
this tiffin box; you can also charge it from electric switch, as electric cord is also
available as an alternate option in case of unwanted weather condition (rainy,
cloudy, foggy, etc.). A battery is fixed in this, which can be charged from solar
energy and store that energy for heating your food. The basic purpose for make this
solar tiffin box is reducing the usage of electricity and saving power. This tiffin
box is basically made for the school going students and office person, who have
very busy life schedule and unable to enjoy hot serving food. This tiffin box is easy
to carry at all places (school, office, for travelling purpose, etc.), it is very obvious
that hot serve food are more delicious and healthy so from this, we can enjoy hot
serve food at any place.

It pertains to an insulated lunch box that is able to maintain different items such as
food and drink at different temperatures. It is able to maintain its contents hot. The
lunch box is intended for use when traveling in a vehicle such as an automobile,
truck or RV, school going purpose, offices and colleges.
SCOPE OF INNOVATION

As solar products are very trending, futuristic and natural conserving source of
producing electricity without any problem. It doesn't harm our environment. It is a
good source of energy and also a cost saving work. We can charge it from natural
source (sun) rather than charging it by using electricity, so basically it is a cost
saving product, which have a great scope in future. As we all know that usage of
electricity is increasing day by day and in future there will be shortage of
electricity, so for conserving electricity we can reduce the use and will have to
increase the usage of natural source of producing electricity. Not only this solar
tiffin box but also many solar products (solar cooker, solar emulsion rode, solar
inverter, etc.) are already available in market which are made just for saving power
and will have very good scope in future. This innovation will also be used on that
place where, there is shortage of electricity and we can say that the place where,
there is lot of power cut. In future if there will be shortage of energy then price of
electricity bills are also increased and for reducing the usage, we can use this for
saving power and money as well.

Solar tiffin Box Market By Technology, Product Type (Plastic, thermos-steel,

future because it is totally new and innovative product.

PRODUCT DISCRIPTION

Solar Electric Tiffin Box, hotline ideal usage is to serve your meal hot and fresh
anywhere and anytime. It comes with solar charging with an alternate option of
plug-n heat feature which allows you to plug at your desk or wherever you are to
give you hot food in just 10-12 minutes. It has a 15-minute auto cut-off feature.
When using solar energy as the energy source it works on DC and alternately it
also works on AC - volts: 220-240, heater load - 100 watts. It contains a small
battery which can be charged with both the sources i.e. solar light and household
electricity in case of unwanted weather condition and no electricity present. This
lunch box is made of stainless thermo steel and outer covering is made of virgin
plastic which is BPA (bisphenol A- It’s Polycarbonate plastics are often used in
containers that store food and beverages, such as water bottles) free that keeps your
food safe. Lunch box come with an solar panel on the top of the tiffin box to heat
up its content and also an electric power cord which can be plugged in to heat up
its contents in case of bad weather conditions. There are three stainless steel
containers inside the lunch box, so you can carry various food items in one
container. All you need to do is to put the tiffin in presence of sunlight for charging
it and just turn on the switch 10-12 minutes before you want your food and your
food will be ready to eat in 10-12 minutes. Also you can plug in the cord for
charging it (basically it’s an alternate option for charging) and at the time you want
your food to be ready, you just need to turn on the switch and your food will be
ready to eat in 10-12 minutes. There are three stainless steel containers. Perfect in
size will not take much of your space. All the three containers are leak proof and
air tight so, no food will be spills.
Solar Panel consists 7 layers which are as follows: -
1. Aluminium Frame:
Solar panel frame is made up of aluminum as they provide the structural
stability for the overall combination of glass, EVA encapsulant, the cell and
the back sheet. Aluminium is Light weight, high strength, proper corrosion
properties, high surface reflectivity, excellent electrical and thermal
conductivities, as well as special optic properties of its anodic coating are
such as interesting properties of aluminium that make it inseparable part
of solar power systems.

2. Tempered Glass:
Solar panel glass is one of the important barriers which protect solar
photovoltaic cells against damaging external factors, such as water, vapor,
and dirt. The solar panel glass also offers low reflection, high
transmissivity, and high strength. Secondly, tempered glass is considered
safety glass. In case it breaks, it will shatter in thousands of small pieces,
that won't be harmful. Both the strength and safety is important for the
installation of solar panels.

3. Encapsulant-EVA (Ethylene Vinyl Acetate):


EVA (Ethylene Vinyl Acetate) is an encapsulant for solar Cells/ Modules.
Encapsulant sheets play an important role in preventing water and dirt from
infiltrating into solar modules as well as protecting the cell by softening the
shocks and vibrations to the cell.

4. Solar Cells:
Solar cells, sometimes called photovoltaic cells, convert energy from the
sun directly into electricity. Solar cells produce renewable energy, and are
durable, portable and low-maintenance.

5. Back Sheet:
Back sheet means a sheet on the back side of a Photovoltaic Module (i.e.,
the side that does not face a light source), that may include one or more
films or layers, Back sheets play a significant role in protecting PV
modules and delivering needed module lifetime. They protect the solar
panels against environmental damage and ensure that panels remain
electrically insulated.

6. Junction Box:
A solar panel's junction box is attached to the back of the solar panel. It
wires the connectors together and is the output interface of the solar panel.
A good junction box keeps corrosion at the terminals to a minimum, as it
will exclude water coming in. The junction box is often an overlooked piece
of the solar panel. The PV junction box has a simple, but important role:
housing all the electric bits on a solar panel and protecting them from the
environment. Wires connect to diodes inside, providing an easy way to
link panels together.

Solar Technology Got Cheaper and Better in the 2010s.

No other power-generation technology matched solar’s pace of cost reduction this


past decade. The game will change again in the 2020s.

The cost of multi-silicon solar modules fell from $2 per watt to just over
$0.20/W during the 2010s

Solar energy grew by leaps and bounds in the 2010s. According to Wood
Mackenzie, global annual solar installations grew more than six fold this past
decade, from 16 gigawatts in 2010 to 105 gigawatts in 2019.

In the meantime, multi-silicon solar module prices dropped from over $2 per
watt to just over $0.20 per watt in Q3 2019. That 90 percent price reduction is
one of the most critical factors driving the global expansion of solar.

No other electricity generation technologies have been able to keep up with


solar’s pace of cost reduction over this period.

The U.S. Energy Information Administration’s data shows that the overnight
capital cost required building new onshore wind and conventional natural gas
combined-cycle power plants in the U.S. decreased by 38 percent and 2
percent, respectively, between 2010 and 2018.

In the meantime, the cost to build combustion turbine plants has gone up by 11
percent. The same unfavorable economics have led to very few new coal plant
constructions in the second half of the 2010s.

DEVELOPMENT DROVE SOLAR'S COST
REDUCTION

The main reason solar modules have become increasingly cost-competitive is


due to economies-of-scale production along the entire supply chain. Global
polysilicon production capacity grew more thanfourfold this past decade, while
the price of polysilicon, the primary feedstock for solar module production,
declined from over $80 in 2010 to just $8.40 in 2019.
Similarly, accompanying the steep module price decline was a fivefold
increase in the global module production capacity. Wafer and solar cell
production capacity also experienced huge growth over the decade.

This supply-chain-wide development created a robust and competitive solar


marketplace. Nowadays, successful manufacturers continue to produce at scale
while innovating their business models and technology offerings.

CHEAPER AND BETTER

In addition to their significant cost decline, solar panels have improved a lot in
the past decade.

The average nameplate power output of a standard 72-cell multi-silicon


module was around 290 watts in 2010. Today, consumers can expect at least
345 watts at one-tenth of the 2010 price. It is like getting the latest iPhone at a
90 percent discount on the old iPhone price. Although that may never happen
in the mobile phone market, solar has been seeing better products at lower
prices every year for a decade.

The 2010s also witnessed solar modules getting better in a few other ways:

• Higher-efficiency mono silicon-based modules are replacing multi silicon


modules to become the predominant module type.

• Modules increasingly use advanced cell architectures such as passivated


emitter and rear contact (PERC), interdigitated back contact (IBC),
heterojunction with intrinsic thin layer, and bifacial cell technologies.

• Modules based on larger wafers (158 mm and above) and n-type wafers are
gaining market traction.

• Innovative module techniques such as half-cuts and shingles are capturing


market share.

easy to use by the costumers.

This is basically made for the requirement of saving electricity and uses more

natural source of energy i.e. sun and then consume this energy for heat your food .
A small Solar panel is embedded on the top of the box and we can charge this box
with the help of that solar panel. A battery is also fixed to store energy so that you
can warm your food as per your convenience time and enjoy healthy n hot food at
any time and any place. This battery is charged from both the sources i.e. from
solar light and household electricity in case of unwanted weather condition. All
you need to do is to put the tiffin in presence of sunlight for charging it and just
turn on the switch 10-12 minutes before you want your food to be ready to eat.
This product is totally feasible and easy to manufacture and very affordable for
middle class as compared to the other electric tiffin box available in the market.
This is basically made for the purpose of saving electricity and reduces the
electricity bills.

In future if there will be shortage of electricity then price of electricity bills are also
increased so for reducing that usage we have to save more and more artificial
energy and use natural source of energy i.e. solar energy.
