Occupational Health and Safety Policy
The Senior Management of Turkish Airlines declares its Occupational Health and Safety Policy in order to bring together
its employees, customers, suppliers, affiliates, all business partners and shareholders for the same purpose.

Abiding by the Rules


Complies with international aviation rules along with national, legal and other regulations on occupational health and
safety issues.

Considering People while Growing,


Uses equipment and organizations that have the minimum risk level while planning new investments, expanding the fleet,
and raising the technological infrastructure level by considering the health and safety of its employees, customers,
suppliers and subcontractors.
The Company Management believes in the importance of working in a safe and healthy environment, and that this is a
part of the Company's success.

Employee Participation and Communication


Ensures participation of all the levels of the organization in the improvement of occupational health and safety
performance. Realizes activities in order to support the improvement of occupational health and safety culture via
increasing knowledge and awareness of employees regarding occupational health and safety. Each employee is aware of
her contribution to the performance of the Occupational Health and Safety Management System of the Incorporation in
her field, and fulfills her duties as being responsible for its effectiveness and continuous improvement.
Establishes an open dialogue regarding occupational health and safety with all relevant parties inside and outside the
organization for current and future activities.
Leadership, Commitment and Sourcing
It leads and shows commitment to consultation with and participation of employees in the planning, implementation,
maintenance and development of the Occupational Health and Safety Management System. Each unit manager, being
aware of the contribution of the employees to the performance of the Occupational Health and Safety Manag ement
System of the Incorporation in their own activities and fields, participates in and encourages activities aimed at ensuring
its effectiveness and continuous improvement. It undertakes the provision and existence of the necessary resources for
the Occupational Health and Safety Management System.

Managing the Risks and Opportunities


Identifies the occupational health and safety hazards of its activities, develops action plans to eliminate the hazards,
reduce the risks and manage the opportunities. It works to prevent injury and deterioration of health, and to provide safe
and healthy working conditions.
Ensures the surveillance of the working environment and the continuity of preventive medicine studies.
Establishes the necessary infrastructure to provide a healthy and safe working environment for employees,
subcontractors and visitors.
Determines possible emergencies in the work areas and makes studies to be prepared for all these scenarios.
Ensures the physical and medical suitability of employees working in critical functions for the operations they will perform.

Occupational Health and Safety Policy
With the awareness of the human factor in the civil aviation sector, in order not to compromise on operational safety and
security and to minimize operational risks; first of all, it applies alcohol and psychoactive substance addiction as a selection
criterion in the employment of new human resources for critical functions, and does not employ candidates who are
found to be addicted to alcohol and/or psychoactive substances.
• Checks whether the employees who will take charge in critical functions are under the influence of alcohol and/or
psychoactive substances routinely before starting their duties and randomly during their duties.

• Does not allow employees found to be under the influence of alcohol and/or psychoactive substances to participate
in the operation, and applies the rules of national and international civil aviation authorities exactly.

• Supports the treatment of employees who declare that they are addicted to alcohol but do not act illegally.

Improving Consistently
Monitors, measures and reviews the occupational health and safety performance in line with its targets, and continuously
improves its performance in this field by considering the best practices in the world.
Fulfills the requirements of appropriate management procedures by constantly reviewing the policy with targets on
Occupational Health and Safety and continuous improvement programs.
