In Fitzgerald's novel, The Great Gatsby, Jazz appears in the background constantly.

Gatsby falls

in love with the dream girl he has always wanted. All the slow and love songs in the playlist

describe who he is and show his love for the girl he has always loved. The jazz music fits him

because It is the background in the text throughout the film and when he has his outrageous

parties. Gatsby would listen to the song Electric Feel by MGMT because he throws electric

parties for rich people and others. Gatsby would also listen to the song Pocketful of Money by

Jens Lekman because the song is about wanting to blow all your money on a girl which connects

to Gatsby. As stated in the song “Ill come running with a heart on fire” Really is what we think

of when thinking of Gatsby.
